Well, I’ve been posting threads ever since we got our little Meeko (Kitten). The past couple of days Baxter has been laying/sleeping right next to the baby gate that seperates him from the living room. Meeko was on the other side! It is so cute! You can tell Baxter is very interested in Meeko. Saturday night my Husband & I just sat there and watched them follow eachother around the kitchen and sniff eachother. Today I was in the kitchen cleaning when Meeko came in and went right over to Baxter. Baxter niffed him and the flopped down right next to him Meeko walked over to Baxter living space, which made me nervous that Baxter was going to let him know he wasn’t welcome there. He started to drink from Baxters water bowl and Baxter crawled up next to him and shared it with him. I was amazed! Of course I don’t want them sharing any of that stuff changed the water right away. I am so amazed. Baxter seemed so bored and kind of lonely before we got Meeko but now he is roaming around and even doing binkies. He just seems a lot more playful and happy now. I really hope it only gets better from here.

When you do start introducing Meeko to Baxter, do not allow the kitten to scratch or bite the rabbit even in play. I am on a another list where it was talked about how frequently cat scratches lead to nasty infections in rabbits.

They have been introduced many times but it is always under heavy supervision. We are also ordering soft paws for our kitten. Right now his nails are trimmed and filed so they are not at all sharp. So far he doesn’t bite when playing. I will make sure he doesn’t scratch or bite Baxter. Thanks for the info

Awe Now Baxter has a friend! So cute!

While I miss Eddie, I can’t wait to get Lolli another friend. I miss seeing two bonded animal friends. I had two rabbits but it was so sweet watching them groom each other and pal-ing around.

I agree! Let me know how they work, if they stay on and all that.
