I read the website, and I don’t know if I skipped over it or what.  Lucy does a few things with her ears.

        1.  She typically holds them in a V shape, almost completely perpendicular to her head.

        2.  She will occassionally maintain the V shape with one ear, while the other ear is flat, but still facing forward.  Almost like _ _ /

        3.  Sometimes she pulls an airplane!  Both ears are almost completely down, but still facing forward! _ _ _ She did this one so much as a baby, we thought she may have been part lop! Which is guess is still possible?  Who knows!

Typically she’s displaying happy behaviors while her ears are like this (binkies, asking for nose pets etc) so I’m not concerned about them being aggressive stances.  Just curious! Anyone else’s bunny do weird ear movements?

She might have a bit of lop somewhere in her background. Some of it has to do with the ear position on their head and she looks to have a wider head. My Max has a lot of control over his ears, whereas I’ve heard other lop owners say their lops don’t have a lot of ear movement, they just hang. This makes me think Max may be a partial lop/partial “uppy” b/c he can hold his ears straight up for an extended length of time.

A forward facing ear can mean she’s trying to hear something better. Flat back is usually a sign of anger or annoyance. And of course, ears only tell part of the story. You are also looking at body position, eyes, and you’re noticing the rate of respiration.

Spockie had uppy ears. He told me once that the V shape means “Live long and prosper.”
