I just witnessed her pee a little on the floor. She is still acting uncomfortable. UTI is a good suggestion. I am researching it now. The only emergency clinic in the area does not usually see rabbits, so I’m very worried.

Currently she is refusing to eat, and she is still flexing her tail and switching positions. She can’t seem to get comfortable. What’s really odd is that she’s not interested in her buddy, who she is normally really eager to see. She also keeps pinning her ears back. Sigh. Is it possible this is a GI problem? Her belly feels kind of soft, from what she let me touch of it. If I administered her some of that baby gas medicine (It starts with an S, forget the name, but the HRS lady suggested we have some on hand), do you think that would be OK?

I hate that regular vets aren’t open on Sunday.

Yeah you’re right, lol, I just sort of groped her. Poor bunny, she is so sweet and tolerant. If she doesn’t improve, I am going to bring her to the vet Monday… that’s going to be a pain to negotiate with work, but oh well.

Oliver is being funny, too. Normally he’s raring to get to her, but he’s just sitting by the gate watching her. Maybe he senses that she doesn’t feel well. I am going to administer some Simethicone (what’s the recommended dose? I read 20ml?) and see if that perks her up. It’s just bizarre that she’s not eating… she looooves her pellets.

Thank you very much, Sarita and Monkeybun, for your help. We put her back in her pen and found some more urine there. When we came home from buying the Simethicone, she was nibbling her lettuce, then hopped into her litterbox and started nibbling at the hay there, so I think she likes the privacy. We will definitely be keeping a close watch on her until Monday.

Thanks, jerseygirl! She seems to be doing a lot better this morning. She ate most of her hay last night and was excited to have breakfast this morning… do you think I should still bring her in tomorrow? I didn’t find any more urine or poo that she left outside the box, but you never know. I would hate to not bring her in, and then find out that she has a massive UTI/bladder infection later down the road. I guess I might as well.

Yeah, after some thinking I’m definitely going to. We just got her last week, so even if she’s OK now I would like to get her in to see a vet anyway.

Dorie acted fine all day, so hopefully nothing major is wrong. Thank you everyone for the advice.

Edit: I brought Dorie into the vet this afternoon. The vet tried to get a urine sample by palpating her bladder but had no luck, so she sent me home with a syringe and vile to do a home collection, lol. She told me to remove all of the blankets, towels, litter, etc. from Dorie’s xpen so that she has no choice but to pee on a surface where I can collect it. Let me tell you, Dorie is NOT happy with this arrangement. She hasn’t pooped or peed in over 3 hours, even though she is eating and drinking and everything. I think she must be holding it in because she doesn’t like having no litter in her box. She’ll go eventually, right?

Also, the vet called in a prescription for Baytril for me to pick up tomorrow. That’s rabbit-safe, right?
