Lolli is not very well trained to go poop in the litter box.  Never has been but with Eddie also pooping everywhere too, it was hard to train them both.  Well, Eddie KNEW to poop there cause he came already litter box trained.  I think he was reacting to Lolli’s pooping and marking the heck out of the apartment.  Anywho….I have been trying to get Lolli better trained.

All I do when I see Lolli going in the box is verbally give her praise.  When  I was first training her, she got treats for going pee cause that was the biggest issue.  Now she just gets praise cause I can’t tell if she’s peeing or pooping and i’m too lazy to get up and look really good.  lol  However, Miss Lolli has decided that yes, she does get treats when she goes cause she is now coming to me, begging for them when she gets done going.  LOL LOL LOL   And she looks so cute that I can’t help but give in.  hehe

On a side note, it has just occurred to me that rabbit boards and baby/toddler boards are probably the only places where you can talk about poop and pee and not gross people out.  LOL

Lol. They’re know just how to look cute, don’t let her fool you! And I think you’re right – these are the only places where pee/poop talk is probably actively encouraged!

Lol Bunbun1, that’s really funny! It reminds me of this video I took of Bee when she was little…her litter habbits were out of control too. Just look

30 seconds in you will see Lolli is not the only one

Don’t let her talk you into too many treats! Rexes need to be on a careful diet, they are very prone to gettign very overweight.

I need to cut back cause she is already overweight. Before Eddie passed away, I was cutting them back, trying to get her to lose weight. Then Eddie died and that went by the wayside. So we need to get back into it. I just need some willpower to not give in to that cute face!

So I figured it out tonite. Cause she did it again. Praise for going potty = treats in her little head. Cause that’s what I did before. Sigh. lol So should I give praise and not give treats? Or should I use treats as a training tool?

Well she certainly didn’t forget! So…..don’t fall for the innocent looks when you scold them for doing something bad that you’ve repeatedly scolded for. They remember. Little cute stinkers. lol

You could try giving her a treat that is more on the healthy side? If she responds well to food in general I’m sure she won’t really think about a bit of lettuce vs. a raisin. Sure the raisin is sweeter but you don’t have to tell her that! What kind of treats are you giving her?

She gets raisins cause they are sitting on my coffee table. I don’t really know how the container got there. lol Probably cause it was easier than getting up and walking over to her basket of stuff. lol

The stinker has decided that she should get a raisin whenever she does something good. For example, she chewed on the end table. i told her no and to come on (meaning go find something else to do). She moves away and comes over for a treat cause I told her she was a good girl. LOL

No, I didn’t give in. Sigh They’ll just try anything to get a treat. When I was potty training her, I caught her in the potty stance about to pee. I shooed her away and what does she do? Goes behind me and around to the litter box, pees and then comes up to me all proud of herself and begging for a raisin cause, after all, she did go pee in the box. I gave her a treat anyways, but was like…you don’t get a treat when you try to pee somewhere else first. lol
