Do any bunnies here have an experience with ped beds? I’m thinking of sewing a bed for my bun, but I’m not sure if she’ll love it or hate it. She loves to dig in our chair, and she loves to sleep in one of these:

But I bought her a regular flat pet bed once and she didn’t really care for it much. It could’ve been the material, or maybe she didn’t think it was big enough? She didn’t really care to dig in it, which I thought was strange. She did a couple times for short periods and then it got a hole in it, so yeah lol… I’m thinking of using the stuffing and making her one myself.

Maybe she’d like a covered pet bed like one of these:

I bet I could combine the looks of each of these to make something she’d like. Maybe with a sturdy flat top so she could jump on top if she wants, or retreat to the cozy inside if she wants to get warm or just be alone. I’m going to make some sketches and ask her what she’d like lol

we have the one in the first picture for our cats. i let the buns play with it once and one of my bunny’s liked hopping in and out of it but they were kind of distracted because i was bonding them at that time. i should let them play in it again and see if they like it.

Aw, yes you should. I bet they’d really enjoy it I’ve been wondering why there aren’t more bunny toys available though. There are more when I look deep around the internet, but stores don’t carry much. At least, not in my area.

I have the red kitty condo like your first pic. It last about a week before my bun tore it up. lol I think it would be better to combine the look like you said. The flat pet bed isn’t something my bunny likes but I think it’s because it’s not a closed in space. They like the condo/hut type beds better. That’s a good idea you have. I’ve been thinking about doing something like that too

I have found that beds with an edge on them are what my bunnies prefer. They like to lean up against something — sort of like bed bumpers. Some bunnies will pee and chew on beds though. The best way to test out what they will do with a bed before purchasing is to get a couple of towels (cheap ones!)  and arange it sort of like the bed you were thinkng of getting. If you want to see how they like a covered bed, use a cardboard box with one entrance (as most of the covered beds for cats only have have one. That way you can see how your bunny takes to the home-made version before you spend your $$. Plus, cardboard is digestable –much easier than cloth, so it’s a good way to safely find out if they would chew it all up.

I would have to say, don’t buy anything expensive because it will probably eventually get ruined. I got this one for 14$ and it eventually fell apart in the washing machine!

                  Bagheera loved it!

                  It was shared even too!

This bed/basket was a great find for 9$ …it’s a bed and a chew toy!

This bed was 30$, I bought it to spoil Bee after her spay. It now has pee stains and a nice hole chewed in it.

My rabbits just like Bunstructing things, not actually eating them – but I do stick to bargin deals now and not 30$ beds that won’t last more than a few months.

I bought a cuddle cup for Fern when I first got it. My buns are not a huge fan because they cannot stretch out in it, but I have seen them sitting in it once and a while.
I also made them a large flat bed made of fleece with that flat stuffing stuff in the middle (used for blankets). They haven’t really ever slept on it….. they prefer sleeping on the cold hard ground or inside their maze haven.
I may try adding an edge to it as Binky bunny recommended though, maybe they would like it better if I did that.

The cubes in the first photo i have used. I bought them from cvs for like $5 per cube. Thye have since been chewed and ripped but my bunnies love them! My bunnies dont really like things with padding in it. I just buy cheap $5-$6 pet bds from cvs when they have them and cut out the stuffing from the bottom of the bed so it is flat. They just won’t use them if there is padding in it.

She’s had endless amounts of those red cubes. The last time her “grandma” (haha) said she needed purple so we got her purple. You can sometimes find them at dollar stores! That’s the best find.

That bed basket is cute too! I’m never sure about getting those b/c how do you know if they are treated wood or not??? They always have those at the dollar store, lol yes, I like to find good deals at the dollar store since Bun is going to reconstruct it anyway
