  I recently got a new bunny, he is only 8 weeks old, and it has been a while since I have litter trained a rabbit. I observed which corner he preferred to urinate in and about a week in I placed the litter box there. He will poop in there and lay in there, but has switched to pee in the opposite corner. I then moved the box to that corner, he then went back to peeing in the old corner. So once again I moved the box with the same result. It just seems that he is avoiding the litter box at all costs! Does anyone have any advice?

  get a 2nd litter box and put it there baby bunnies can be a pain to litter train. Most of the time you can’t fully litter train them until they get altered.

  Yeah, with some baby bunnies it really is just a waiting game until they are old enough for the big snip.
  
  You don’t have any bedding or litter in the cage right, just the litterbox?

  Yeah my rabbit was doing the same thing as a baby until I made sure to remove all litter/bedding from his cage except for inside the litter box. Like Beka said, do you have bedding anywhere besides the litter box in his cage? That would be confusing for him.

  Also if you have a corner litter box you might want to switch to a small rectangular one. My rabbit didn’t like the corner one but he used the rectangular one…

  Soak up the pee with a tissue and put it in the litterbox. That will encourage him to go there next time. Cover that area with tissues so you can protect the flooring. I would also try buying the Natures Miracle Odor and Stain remover from the BinkyBunny store or some similar product to use on that area.

  Whenever he pees in the wrong place or you introduce him to a new zone, put him in the litter box. Give him a little bit of his favorite food for going in the right place (my rabbit was litter-trained on a head of parsley…)

  thanks for all of your suggestions!
  there is no other litter in the cage- I have a corner box- but will try to get a rectangular one to cover both corners and add some urine soaked paper (there is a tray underneath)

  You gotta make his litter box feel like it’s his special place and his home base.
