We seem to have a lot of new active members lately, and I am really curious about how much of an age range we cover. It is totally against the BB rules to state your age, so if you would take my poll and PROMISE not to identify yourself with your age, it would really help get an idea of our latest demographic. Any replies added to the poll that indicates your own age may be deleted if it breaks the BB rule, so if you do add a comment, put your false teeth in so you don’t flap your gums too much and spill the beans!
Thanks guys.![]()
Aw I’ve been wondering this too!
I’m old enough to know better, young enough to not care.

I wonder if anybody is the Guiness World Record Holder ![]()
It seems like so far the 20s is the most popular choice! LOL!
A part of me wonders this too… I know some of my “more mature” family members can barely figure out their cell phones or checking email. I don’t see them really “getting” an internet forum. I doubt we’ll have many people in the older ranges simply b/c they may not know what a forum is or how it works. Unless they’ve had computer training or classes. I know my school offers those for seniors to help get them up to speed.
grumble grumble grumble smacks beka grumble grumble
ahem. I may be older than a few of you. I may hate my cell phone because the only thing it can’t do well is take calls I can hear comfortably.
I may have had a weekend training class on Word Perfect (what IS that????). But I also am one of the 2 computer savvy workers on our staff, taught myself how to create a website of 8 pages a decade ago, and am self taught in graphic design and photoshop. I get others out of computer jams at work routinely. I’d agree about seniors, except I installed an 80+ volunteer’s new computer with Vista and internet hook up that she’s now used for 2 years. And our volunteers in their 70s bring in their laptops for a bit of tweaking or advice. Those who aren’t using kindle to read instead of books now.
What I can’t see is being able to chase the damn bunny around the apartment in 20 years, so they’d better learn to come when called and serve me breakfast in bed.
lol… go rabbitpam! i think we may have checked the same box. (and in a month i’ll have to check the 40-49 box. the big four-oh! w00t) i took a word perfect class too. and remember DOS operating systems? *gasp* design drafting has kept me in the loop but i’m far from a tech geek. i’m more of a gleek
just don’t try to take my berry away *protective growls*
Looks like I’m in the most popular age range!
I do agree that forums tend to be more popular with the younger crowd, so I’m not surprised that there is a younger crowd here. Though I’m glad we have a range! I have been on horse forums where it seems like most of the members are very young and the amount of text speaks makes my head want to explode. ![]()
I’m in the younger age ranges. ![]()
1 more year and I’ll be moving to a new age bracket ![]()

That was my complaint when I turned 30 LOL… and so as a joke, my family made a poster with a “Check your Age Box” with a removable Checkmark that we could take pictures under at my Surprise birthday Party. It was great!
Though I’m 29… again ![]()
30 is a great age! And so if 40!
Okay, so I’ll be 50 in a few years but I’m kind of looking forward to that too. The only thing about turning older that makes me sad is that my mom and dad are getting older too….not that you would know their age by looking at them, they both look fantastic for their age, but I know they are getting older and that makes me sad.

Hey, I learned to use a computer with DOS. When I was like, 3 years old. I remember playing some Mickey Mouse game on DOS. It was on a floppy.
My mom caught me playing with the settings on Windows 3.1 when I was 4. She asked me what I was doing, and I replied “trying to optimize the system!”. I don’t even think I knew what that meant. Although, my love for computers at that age kind of explains why I’m studying computer science.
I remember typewriters! Does anyone else remember those?

Yup. Those were fun… One of my grandparents had one and I would type away on it as a kid. Thank goodness for keyboards and a backspace button. I would be doomed when it comes time for me to write papers for school.
I’ll be XX next year

I wonder where my teen years went.
IBM Selectric. I love the noise. Anyone take typing and get tested for speed with 3 errors or less, because there were no delete keys so what you typed is what you got?
Babybunsmum, are you suggesting that I am around 39? Really? If you meant that, you made my day. I’m a teensy weensy insignificantly, immaturely, itty bitty bit older than that. (*refers others to Guinness Book of World’s Records.”)
well currently I am in the second most common group, but right at the top end of it :p
*hurriedly pushes walker up to the voting bar*
Hmm…are we talking about physical age or how old I feel this evening in particular? If the latter, I’m going for a the Guinness record myself. ^_^
I think we still have an old electric typewriter around here somewhere. The cats sleep on it.
And in the hubby’s museum is one of the old manual ones…I mean OLD. *pokes RP* (lolz…j/k, but the one he has is from the early 1900’s I think)

OMG! Are you me? I did the same thing. They had 1 typewriter that was electric, and one that wasn’t. They amused me for hours on end on rainy days at my grandparent’s place, because there’s nothing else to do in the middle of nowhere, Pennsylvania when you’re a kid.
