I’ve noticed the last few days that Hugo has made a mess on his blanket.  Some of his poop is very soft an mushy and getting stuck on the floor and in his fur.   He’s been here for almost 2 weeks now and I’ve been giving him the same food everyday.  Is this something I should be concerned about?  Could it be from a veggie I’m giving him?   Thanks for your help.

What veggies are you giving him? I’ve heard that kale can have that affect, and I’ve noticed that parsley has that affect with mine. I don’t feed mine either.

Every night they get bok choy, cilantro, and a small carrot to share.

He gets celery, parsley, cilantro, carrot and romaine everyday.

I think it would be more the pellets than the veggies. How is his hay eating?

He’s not much of a hay eater. He is eating a little more orchard hay now that I’m holding back a little more on the pellets. He has been on the Timmy pellets for about 9 days now.

It might be something else, but try substituting something for the parsley for a day or two. It gave our buns the smooshy poops, which stopped as soon as I stopped feeding parsley to them!

Thanks. I’ll give that a try.

I think it’s awesome that you give him cilantro… not only is it super healthy, but the essential oils kill salmonella and E. coli

which, I think, is pretty cool : P

I didn’t know that. That’s awesome. Do you think I should take him down to 1 veggie and introduce a new 1 every few days or just cut out the parsley for a few days to see if it helps?
