  Hi, all. The vet and I were chatting about my new habitat. The tiles are pretty and the throw rugs I found are good for Samantha since they are cotton and low pile. She likes to crumple them and push them, but then she acts helpless when they are bunched and it’s tile between she and the door. (Vet said the Diva can jump across and she knows it.)
  
  My vet suggested adhesive backed carpet pieces like those used on stairs. Low pile, clean like a regular carpet, and stuck onto the tiles. We both agree that the rubber backed throws are dangerous for nibbling on, but she said to check out the more permanent pieces used for stairs. Cleanable with vacuuming and Nature’s spray for stains of course.
  
  I am wondering where I might get something like that. Right now she’s happy with the throw rugs, and she likes me to come inside and put them back into flat shape so she can crumple them again during the day.
  
  Also, any adhesive backed natural pieces, like sissel or jute or other edible kinds? I have ordered some new seagrass mattes, but they don’t clean easily. She needs traction. I love the mattes, but not sure it’s going to be a long term solution.
  
  Just wondering what you may have seen. (I love the look of the tiles.

  Here’s what I do – I put the large area rug all over and then on top I put carpets that I can throw in the wash and air dry. My rabbits do pee on the carpet and while I have to wash the top rugs frequently I only have to change the large carpet every so often.
  
  The large carpet is 5 x 8 I believe and yes, it’s larger than the pen, but it’s not a big deal – I just would roll the large one all the way out since at least for me, the additional part does not hurt anything. I get those carpets at Walmart – they are around $19.99 and are short pile. I think you can then use whatever you want on top.

  i found a 5 x 7 rug on clearance for 19.99. it took awhile to find but i found it in a store kind of like home depot. it very nice and my buns love to run around on it!

  What flooring are they on top of? You could buy carpet to floor tape (you can get removable as well as permanent) which should allow you to fix it to the floor as long as its a hard floor. This will not work, however, if its a wood floor as it will mark.

  I know this isn’t what you asked for, but Bed Bath & Beyond has a big selection of area rugs, all in nice neutral brown colors, that are super cheap. I got a 5×7 rug for only $30! They have an even bigger selection now that it’s back to college time. If you can’t find the carpet tiles you’re looking for, I would definitely check out their selection. I haven’t been able to find the super cheap ones online – just a random collection stuffed in a box in the store.

  Probably don’t need to say it RabbitPam, but do let your nose help you choose. Some of those adhesives are strong smelling! Something to consider given your own sensitive nose along with Sammy’s.
  
  Some of the large door mats (indoor/outdoor carpet) might be an option for the whole pen, then her cotton ones on top. Again though, I notice even the backing in these can be have that chemical smell.
  
  What about large piece of anti slip mat liner (or carpet tape) and polar fleece on top to cover entire floor. Have a few and switch them out as needed.
