Purina has changed the ingredients of their “Show Feed” variety. It contained vegetable oil and papaya.

Does anyone know of another brand of rabbit feed that contains veg. oil and papaya?

Thanks so much! I have to find one asap

I don’t know of any with that. Is there a reason why your pellets must include this?

Feeds that contain dried fruit pieces such as papaya or pineapple also contain a myriad of other ingredients that aren’t good for rabbits on a regular basis; for a pellet it is best to go with a plain timothy-based one such as Oxbow T for example. Keep in mind, too, that by the time the papaya pieces end up in a rabbit feed mix their enzyme potency is uncertain.

If you are completely out perhaps you can ring some stockist to see if they still have some of the old formula you can buy. Then you can transistion slowly onto an alternative feed. Some rabbit clubs might be able to advise you on alternative feed that has what you’re looking for. I’ve not seen those ingredients promoted in feeds before. I have seen papaya tablets for rabbits though.
