I have never heard of this, where do you buy it?  How is it different from timothy hay.

You can definitely order it from the BinkyBunny store. Also, some pet shops, though often it’s the smaller ones not the chains, carry it. Oxbow makes it, and the products BB makes are excellent. (She doesn’t like us to plug her products, but I say this based on my happy bunny.)

Orchard grass is much softer and sweeter than most hays. Timothy hay is the most recommended as a staple in the diet, but many bunnies don’t eat hay the way they should, so trying another kind is going to keep their gut motility healthy. Orchard grass just tastes better to some bunnies, and some actually love it. It’s also sometime easier to chew for bunnies with teeth issues, or older bunnies.

It’s just a different kind of hay My buns love to have a few different kinds of hay-I switch it up and mix them and they are big hay eaters No one likes to eat the same stuff all the time

OMG my buns go bonkers for the orchard grass and oat hay sold here on BB. You’d think it was the best thing ever, next to raisins of course…

My bunny gets Orchard Hay only. Along with some Meadow Grass hay. She scarfs it down.

I’m terribly allergic to timothy hay, but orchard grass hay is great. I couldn’t find any at Petco, but managed to find small bags of oxbow orchard grass at Petsmart and the bigger bags at Ace Hardware.

Helenor – at Ace Hardware, seriously? I didn’t know that!

The Ace Hardware in Davis, where I live, is supposedly one of the biggest in the US. The stores take up almost an entire block. It has separate stores, one for housewares and another for hardware (this one has a pretty large selection in pet stuff, including fish, crickets, rats, mice, guinea pigs, and rabbits).

Wow! All my Ace Hardware stores are the size of a closet. Wonder what they have online that could be shipped to stores for pick up?

Is there a difference between 1st cut and 2nd cut? I’m going to a feed store soon (never been there before) where they sell bales for $3.95 and when I called they had 1st cut timothy and 2nd orchard. I’m thinking I’ll get one of each. They had a sample of orchard that they liked from BB before. I’ve always gotten timothy though.
