I’m curious about this too. Bunny just got neutered and I’m hoping it will calm some of his digging down. He’s very small so he can’t do much damage but still. Finding pieces of carpet here and there is not good…not in a rent house.

You could give him some dig boxes. Or simply get those grass mats and place them over the spots they like to dig at. Unless you train your buns that digging the carpet is not allowed, that’s pretty much all you can do and it doesn’t mean they won’t find other spots to dig at either.

They seem to like corners or the edges of the room. I would try sea grass mats and secure them onto a heavy board. Then place that over the trouble spots. Also see if a diggy box would appeal to him. You could use a carrier or a cardboard box.

Moose seems to enjoy digging in his cage. I have some cardboard scraps in there that used to be a box that Moose chewed to bits. He likes to dig in the bits

Blankets?

Ooo Smudgie loves her blankie. She will dig at it, bunch it up, smooth it out, drag it around, burrow under it… she <3s blankie.

When is he getting neutered?

My guys aren’t big diggers, but they love to dig at blankets! Somehow they know that carpet is off limits, but as soon as a blanket goes down they really get into it.

Haha, Hannah will do that on the couch! She’ll hop up and dig, then look over at me like “What are you gonna do about it, lady?” She also jumped up on the dining room table 3 times yesterday to get attention. lol

I stripped my bed last weekend and threw the sheets on the floor. A certain bunny immediately burrowed under it, pushed, bunched, etc. etc. Sheets are fun because they are lighter than blankets. That is, if you don’t mind tooth marks in them here and there….

There is a huge linen closet here, full of bed sheets, towels, towels, and more towels, pillow cases GALORE. It is my grandparents house, so I just HELP MYSELF LOL!!

What I have for my bunnies; since their favorite place to dig are the corners; I went to a carpet store and asked for scrap carpeting that can not be sold or re-used for anyhthing. (this is given to me for free)  I then went to the nearest hardware/home improvement store and asked for any wood they have; again can not be sold or used for anything other than scrap. I cut the wood to fit in places such as corners etc then I used a staple gun to secure the carpeting to the wood.  If you take this route make sure the staples are not on the side the bunny will dig.  I then set cardboard on top; since they like the cardboard.  They dig till their little herart is content and no one is in trouble.  Even if they dig past the carpeting they will not be able to dig thru the wood to get to the real carpeting.  This little places are through out the house

My bunny used to dig at one spot on the carpet and completely ruined it. I put a scrap piece of carpet over the spot and he dug at that for a while and lost interest completely. I also spray bunnies with a squirt bottle when they engage in “bad” behavior and say “shhhht” really loudly. One of my bunnies will immediately stop what she’s doing when she hears “shhhht”.
