  Does anyone else’s bun have one specific spot they like to eat their treats in? Maybe Zeus is just REALLY a creature of habit?
  
  Every time I give him a piece of carrot or apple (pretty much the only 2 treats he’ll eat regularly), he has this set routine. I put the treat down in front of him. He sniffs it, picks it up, carries it into his cage, specifically sits down on the tile in his cage, and then and ONLY THEN will he eat his carrot/apple. Often times I give him a carrot right out of the fridge. He picks it up off the kitchen floor, runs out of the kitchen and across the living room, hops in his cage, THEN eats. Once finished, he hops back out and continues whatever he was doing. It’s hilarious to watch him run with a carrot sticking out of his mouth.
  
  Any clue why he does this? Is it just habit, or is there some instinct that tells him to eat on his tile in his cage? Or maybe he’s just a weirdo?
  
  (I wasn’t sure if this should go in behavior.. or Diet & Care.. or Q & A.. so feel free to move as neccessary, mods.)

  I think he runs to his cage so he doesn’t have to share it and he doesn’t have to be on the alert that someone will snatch it from him – it may be very instinctual. Could be he’s a weirdo too LOL.

  I didn’t think of that! Good point. He could be “protecting” his snack.

  Eddie will sometimes snatch his treats and take off with them. He doesn’t have a particular spot, but will usually run a few feet off and stop and then eat it. I think it has to do with safety too. Of course he acts like he stole a cookie out of a cookie jar when he does it, so who knows. lol Now it’s funny cause if Lolli sees him, she takes off after him and they that “rabbit fighting” over food. haha

  Not with snacks, but when I give Chacha her veggie plate, she will take a leafy green in her mouth and run away, foot flicking me in the process

  We think of their cages as, well, cages, but to them they are more like burrows. Maybe he likes the tile so he won’t get snack juice on the carpet.

  Monkey runs with carrots or treats. Like.. she grabs it, takes a bite, grabs it, runs away, stops, eats a bit, grabs it, runs away… repeat til gone. Moose has started this too, likely from watching her be a weirdo

  Jersey does it. Especially with some brussel sprout. She does laps around the room like a dog with a bone. Sometimes rabbits take there treats to their litterbox. Safe base.
