After about a zillion different configurations I finally decided on this one. He’s very happy. I really love it.

At first I had him separated from our space but the family was spending more time in the pen than out, so I decided to just pen us all in. But thankfully, we can open the gate. Newton can’t.

That’s a fabulous setup, and I imagine Newton is binkying to high heaven in all that free space!  When he’s not hopping up on the couch. A little off the subject, but do you mind my asking you what Newton thinks of his super pet woodland getaway – the wooden house in his crate? If my eyes don’t deceive me, I noticed you have one and I am thinking of getting one in the extra large size for Dustor.  Does your Newton like to go in there a lot?  So, how does he seem to react to it?  Thanks!

Newton mostly likes to stretch out in the open space in the crate but he did go in it quite a bit when I first brought him home. Now he mostly uses it stand on to get at his hay from a different angle.

Yes, with all that lovely space to move around in, I imagine Newton will be out and about a lot, enjoying it, even to sleep. His pen certainly is eye-candy, with all that beautiful wood!

                        Very sturdy and neat-looking solution.

The pet gate I ordered online. Quite a few different sites have it for sale but the price ranges considerably. The dog crate I picked up at the pet store where I adopted Newton. (The store works with a local rescue to foster and place buns.)

It looks just lovely. I’m guessing he must be a very well behaved boy if you’re letting him have the sofa inside his pen!

He can be a handful, but this section of living room is very well supervised. There’s always someone hanging out here. Our biggest behavior problem involves this little guy here. “Rabbit” is my daughter’s favorite toy and she likes to take him into this area. Newton also loves Rabbit and snatches it away anytime he sees it. Causing my daughter to have a meltdown.
