So my little boy may actually turn out to be a little girl! Once we take “him” to the vet for a general check up to talk about neuter/spays I’ll know for sure. I’m baffled as to what I should name my bun if he in fact turns out to be a she! Currently his name is Linus, but if he is a she I’d like to change the name!
Any suggestions for a cute girl name for my bun?
Here’s a pic ^^

Also, I was wondering what breed he/she might be? I was told by the pet store that he/she is a netherland dwarf but he/she seems too big to be a dwarf!
How long before you’ll know for sure? I would have been too tempted to get the squirming Linus and check it out myself!
Well, if you like classic movies then I suggest Sabrina (from the film of same name) Humphrey Bogart plays character called Linus and Audrey Hepburn is Sabrina.
The ears seem long for a dwarf. Yeah pet stores say everything is a dwarf these days.
Hmm time for a new lady like name? Did testicles show up? They sure know how to fool us don’t they.
I should know by the end of this month. I always feel so bad when I have to flip poor little Linus over, he acts like I’m trying to kill him and then I get the silent treatment for the rest of the day >.< Thanks for the suggestion jerserygirl!
No testicles as far as I can see, last nail trimming I even felt around last nail trimming. I also thought the ears seemed too long to be a dwarf, but they did look shorter at the pet store. Obviously he was much younger though.
Definitely doesn’t look like a nethie to me. Theres 2 of em here, and he doesn’t have the same facial structure, or ear size as they do. He’s likely a mix of some sort… so many pet stores like to label bunnies as netherland dwarves to sell them.
Lilly? Lulla? Lola? Linney? I was just thinking to keep with “L” names so not to confuse him too much.
Linus looked more like one when he was at the pet store, but he was still so young then. Now he’s grown a lot! Oh well, breed doesn’t matter to me (:
Hmm I’m still baffled on the name though.
twix is i belive to be a standered rex X cinnamon bun.. she’s 6 1/2 lbs of pure nethie alright :p
hehe.
names names : lynx? lulu? missy? completely and totally adorable? princess? leera?
Where did the Linus name come from? Peanuts cartoon? Or a name you just liked?
Linney is pretty sweet!
I agree with keeping it to L names (:
Yes Linus came from the Peanuts cartoon! ^^ I also like Linney! Lynx is also a very cute name! Great suggestions guys. (: I just thought of the name Luna, since my bun is white like the moon!
Here’s another picture, you can kind of see the dewlap but it’s not as noticeable.

Luna is a really nice name.
Your baby is cute
I would say possible mix. I do not think she is a dwarf bun. Dwarfs tend to have small heads and bigger butts
(as a friend says)
Ear size has something to do with how small/big your bunny will get ![]()
I agree with Linney ![]()
I’ve totally switched in my mind that Linus is in fact a girl !
Shehe doesn’t have any typical look of netherland dwarf but it is possible there is some in herhis mix. Keep in mind there are dwarf versions of most breeds.
Dwarfs tend to have small heads and bigger butts
lol, well that seems to be the case with Rumball. He is known as a Dwarf Lop here (mini lop in US) and is over 6lbs. But that is small when compared to the french lops.
I’m liking Luna and Linney.
Or Lucy from Peanuts.
I like jerseygirls’ suggestion of Sabrina.
My first thought was also Lucy. Altho nothing says you HAVE TO change his/her name. Many bunnies on this site have gender-confused names, and it makes for an interesting story!
My very first thought was Lilly!
my sisters kittens name is luna and looks identicle (in cat form that is :p)
Well it seems his/her ears were much smaller then, here’s a picture from the pet store. Anyhow, breed doesn’t really matter too much to me, I’ll still love my bun regardless (:

I love the name Luna, I think it really fits my bunny. Lucy could grow on me too especially since it’s from Charlie Brown! I’ll really have to think of it. I first thought of Lilly also, but I know so many people with bunnies named Lilly so I think I want something a bit more original. Thanks for the great suggestions guys!
How about Tsuki? (I know its not an L
) But its the word moon in japanese. I can look for more if you want.
Here is the word moon and star in a couple languages
Moon
Chinese- Yueliang (U-Lie-ONG)
French-Lune (Loon) or (Loon-A) (For Loon-A: say it A as in say, not a like Luna)
Korean- Wiseong (Y-zee-ONG)
Star
Japanese- Hoshi (Ho-She)
Chinese-MingXing (Ming-Zing)
What do you think? If you don’t use em’ I might ![]()
Ooh those are some great ideas for names! I think I will stick with the L names though so my baby isn’t too confused (:
