After realising that Phoebe was just making a huge mess of pee and poops in my bedroom I decided to let her roam only in my bedroom’s balcony. I let her out for about 3-4 hours in the morning and another 2 in the evening cause that’s when it’s not too hot. The rest of the day she is in my bedroom but caged…I do pet her through the cage though

At first I had her cage at one side of the balcony and I had blocked entrance to the other half with plastic wire. Sometimes she would escape and pee and poo like crazy on the other side.. Literraly, tons of poops and pee drops over there. So I wouldnt let her go there and she had access only to half balcony. There she would poop territorially, pee a few times when she had access to a particular corner and run around with her tail way high especially when she would go after her ball…sexually driven, anyway…

But my mum said that she needed the balcony sometimes and couldn’t do her job the way I had organised it…So I decided to remove the plastic wire and put her cage on the opposite side where she loves to pee and see how it goes…and puf! she wont leave a single poop or pee..!!! She even goes in her litter box when she eats her regular poop and lets them drop in there, while pooping too.. How cool is that? I am just relieved that I will spend the rest of the summer without picking up poops all the time…phew!

She is not spayed yet and she would poop and pee everywhere but the balcony…that’s why it is a small miracle to me haha!

Part of the success is that she had limited space. Maybe she felt she’s marked that side of the balcony enough and that was that. Good news though!

I hope this new cleanliness is permanent.
