Does anyone else’s bun do something just for the sole reason they know they’re NOT supposed to do it? .

This is Zeus’s one “bad” behavior.. and honestly I find it funny so I’m not that concerned about it. .  He is allowed wherever he wants in my apartment.. EXCEPT for on my futon.  I don’t want to tempt him to mark it since I sleep there (although he doesn’t mark anywhere else, ever), and also the few times he was up there he was digging at it and I’m afraid he’ll make a hole in the fabric because it’s kind of cheap fabric.

So basically his favorite game is to either..

1, run across the room and LEAP onto it from like 3 feet away, then leap off real fast before I can catch him and keep running

2, try and “sneak” up there then sit directly behind me (I sit on the floor, leaning my back against the futon) so I can’t see him and catch him.

I don’t think he does it to be bad, I think he thinks it’s a funny game.  And well.. it is!.

I love it when he’s playful, because it doesn’t happen often.  When he gets into a playful fit, it’s just very entertaining and always makes me laugh.

          OH YES!

Some advice though…be persistant about keeping him off it becasue he might take to peeing on it. So many rabbits do this! So if it doubles as your bed…you do not want that happening. Try making it unpleasant for him up there. Some people have used tin foil or those carpet protector mats the nubbly spike things facing upwards.

Does he wag his tail at you when he runs away after being cheeky?

He gets nudged off the second he jumps on, so no need for foil or anything.  I really don’t want him peeing on it, it would be a huge pain to clean.  Also I’d hate for the futon mattress to smell. .

No tail wagging, although he usually dives into the bathroom and “hides” like he’s thinking “HA!  Mission complete!  Now I shall lay low and hide in my BATHROOM LAIR!”

As soon as something is “forbidden” for mine, it’s instantly fascinating. They are the same way with bags cause they think they’re getting food. So sometimes I find it easier to just let them sniff everything and be done with it rather than try to keep them away and out of them. hehe

For mine, it’s behind the tv, in front of the door, and my walk thru closet. So anytime they can manage to get to those areas, they are there. Lolli has her no-no game. She goes up to my laptop cord and nudges it. I say no, she looks at me, nudges it again, I move towards her to shoo her off, and she hops off wiggling her tail and sometimes does a binky. Yep, no-no game. LOL

That’s cute about Zeus! Yep, he definitely knows. lol Cheeky little buggers sometimes.

Oh yes, Zeus too on that one!  The SECOND he hears the door to my closet opening, he comes running and will do ANYTHING to get in there.. weirdo!

I was hanging some clothes up and had the door open and Lolli came out from somewhere and was RIGHT THERE. LOL I hadn’t seen her for a couple of hours either. haha

I think it’s just because they are curious creatures, but to us humans who know there is absolutely nothing fascinating in the forbidden areas, they seem like little weirdos. lol And they always know they aren’t supposed to be there. Eddie always stops and looks to see if I’m watching him if he tries to do something naughty. LOL Lolli, my little sassy girl, will stop and look but just do it anyways. What would we do without them though? hehe

Try to get behind the TV ..

Chacha has already chewed the cord for On Demand, so I can’t watch it anymore downstairs. Also, she has chewed off some buttons on the remote. LOL. Oopsie.

I love all the games 😉

Last night I had Lola with me in my bedroom in a misguided attempt to cut her nails by myself. She knew it was bedtime and zoomed under the bed. I used a long handled swiffer duster to shoo her out and instead of running out the door towards the living room she just binkied around the bed and shot back under the other side. We did this about a dozen times before I went after some nic grids to surround the bed except for one side. She was having a blast and that chubby girl can run.

She’s down to 5.6 lbs from nearly 8 pounds when I got her so I don’t call her ‘chunky’ any more 😉

This reminds me of when Meadow was young.

We had just gotten really nice, expensive couches (our first “real” grown-up furniture that we purchased ourselves) and shortly after that, we got Meadow. For awhile she couldn’t get on the couches, but with bunnies, once they learn they can do something, that’s all they ever want to do, and there’s just no stopping them.

She was pre-spay and loved to dig on the couches… no peeing tho, thank goodness! Meadow’s cage was in the living room, so that was her main play area. I tried spray bottles, clapping, “NO!”, everything, but she loved the couch.

It got to the point that I could get her to get off the couch, just by standing up from the computer desk chair across the room. She didn’t know what I would do once I stood up, so that was her cue to hop off. Problem is: as soon as I sat back down, she would hop back up, since the “threat” was over. So if someone were to look in the window, they would see me standing up and sitting down, standing up and sitting down, about 5 times every minute. It was nuts.

Fortunately, post-spay she was an angel. The couches were safe.
