Bella is 10 mths olds and soon to be spayed. I’ve only had her a few weeks so we are still getting to know each other. I was laying on the floor with her last nite and she suddenly started sniffing my hair madly then started to ‘hump’ the back of my head. I got up and she started wizzing around all excited then peed and pooped everywhere! Is this normal?

          Unfortunately, yes.
And it’s great that you’re having her spayed (have you made your appointment yet? Can you get it moved to, say, yesterday?)

If she had peed and pooped and also sat in a meatloaf position or ground her teeth, it would indicate illness. But she just got super excited from her hormones and that was the result. If you see her start to wiggle her butt, try to herd her into her litter pan, or pick her up and plop her in there if she’ll let you. It’s a clue that she has to go and sometimes you can make it there before she has an accident.

Can also get her a stuffed animal without long hair or chewable small parts that she can hump instead.

Females can hump and spray, altho it’s not as common as with males. I’m looking forward to hearing more about her and (maybe) seeing pics if you’d like to share. Congrats on your new bunny!

Thank you for you advice, I’ll be watching intently for tail wiggling! I’m booking her appt in about a month when it’s not so hot and not so many flies about (just in case!) As soon as i work out how to do it I’ll put some photos on, I know she’s a x-breed but I’d like to know a x of what!
