It was great!
I don’t have the totals on what was brought in for the rescue, but it was a very well attended event. We had one lady who set up a booth and was serving Sangrea (sp) for donation, all for us
I had just a ‘couple’ of those LOL
There were two live bands, one on each end of the property, the weather was nice, a little less wind every once and a while would have been nicer. Lots of booths, from jewlery to pottery and other arts, fresh flowers (Got myself a boquet), some baked good and much more.
I met a lot of nice people, including owners of rabbits, chinchillas and hedgehogs, some of which were interested in a companion for their current pet, so hopefully a couple of our fosters will find a home out of this
I brought PitStop, as he’s just so sweet and laid back, nothing bothers him. We only had one inncident with unsupervised children who thought poking him with a stick would be fun, i was on top of that in a split second, with my angry face on, asking the boy if he would like being poked with a stick! But out of all the children there, i have to say all the rest were awesome.
(My Mother suggested i sit in the pen with a stick and poke passing children LOL… )
All and All great day, I got to educate a bunch of people on rabbits, and the situation on domestic ferals and what’s going on to prevent that in certain cities, and why abandoning rabbits is a crule fate etc. And even the fact that rabbits are crappy kids pets.
Oh and i won two door prizes, and so did another of our Volunteers!
I will be back next year for sure!
