I discovered accidentally that my rabbits enjoy sliding… I didn’t mean for my rabbits to have a slide but it seems like fun for them, so here they go.
their fur are so shiny.cute
I love it! I didn’t think Neigey would be able to make that jump back up, I was shocked! So cute how he flopped out after!
Deirdra is like, “Uh… I’m just gonna EAT, if you don’t mind…”
I love that pen, I was thinking it would be dark inside… but it’s not!
That is an amazing bunny playland…whee, who’s going down the slide first.
i love it!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m laughing hysterically.. Your white bunny looks like it shoved grumpy face down the slide.
He did shove Lint down. It’s typical of him. My white bunny isn’t very polite at all.
Lint was relaxing! How dare he! ![]()
I agree… Neigey, the white bun, is a nuisance… but a cute one.
Neigey is so cute! He says it was time for a nap! They look like they are having fun on the slide though.![]()
I love how Lint gets shoved in the butt – it looks so much like how Hannah treats Otto. lol
So funny! Though Deirdra is clearly having none of it 😛
I love Neigey. He’s too cute.
What is the slide made out of?
Also, what kind of camcorder do you have? I am getting tired of making everyone suffer with the el cheapo I got 3 years ago with the very low resolution. Wondering what other folks like to use.
i use just a digital camera.
I have a a casio exilim digital camera, 8.1 mega pixels, that I use for my videos also. It is now around $ 200, much cheaper than when I got mine a few years ago.
The slide is the plastic tray from a wire dog crate.
hey petzy, i know this was brought up before how much your broken brown and whilte lookes like mine, i was wondering, dont remember if it was said or not, is she a flemish giant cross too??
I don’t know for sure. The rescue I got her from believed she was. She is just under 8lbs though, she might have french lop in her.
They broke their slide. My rabbit slide now has a crack right down the middle…
Awww
They had too much fun with it I guess!
That is awesome, I bet next week those buns are going to be watersking or something….lol
I like the last few seconds of Neigey with those ears pinned back, looks just like She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named 😉
Already?
The kids need a plastic slide instead.
I gave them the ramp from their condo, which is now pretty bare but easy to clean!
Oh Petzy, I guess that Neigey had too much fun pushing grumpy face Lint down the slide that it broke
(*Snatches Lint!*)
Oh, you must be right: that’s how it cracked!
Petzy: is there any chance you could post some new pics of your setup lick some of when you first made it and some from now? just wanted to get some ideas for my new pen.
Ok, I will take pictures today.
that tray is plastic right? Otherwise it would be like nails on a chalkboard. ::shuddering::
Your bunnies have the most extreme playground ever! When is the rollercoaster being installed?
Here I put some photos for you. It’s hard to get the whole thing in a photo, it is 12′ by 12′ and 40″ high.
There it sat before I moved it. It had bushes in it at that time and not many accessories, it was basically just four pieces of siding with a lattice top of loose wooden beams
then I moved it and made a proper mesh top. If it rains which has done lots this year I throw a tarp on til the weather clears. That way they can be outside even if there is a chance of showers. It is very important to keep your ground dry; if there are droppings that get wet — you will get flies in your pen.
the siding is sitting in a trench we dug and then filled back in so the weasels cannot squeeze under. Weasels don’t dig unless there is already a tunnel started
About tunnel starts, all rabbits will dig up the ground given enough time. I lined my pen with mesh which also makes clean-up of litter easier. Except for Lint my rabbits potty in all corners in this pen because they feel the soft ground.
here is the mesh, it warps in some places which I need to fix. I used a weed screen and some chicken wire in the other half. There is always something to fix.
this is inside. the wire crate in the corner serves no purpose other than it supports the look-out. I may change that in the future. The look-out will stay because it allows my rabbits to get into the breeze.
the siding is screwed into wooden posts in all corners
the look-out sits on the roof which is metal. It must have cardboard on it or it will get HOT. The look-out is just a cage with a tray on top for shade, in the rain I use a plastic crate top to cover it.
I will attach pictures of their shelter below in a new post
covered
the shelter has a door to close it up for at night — we have bats here that would love to hang in this hutch. ![]()
inside shelter (the roof opens up)
under shelter for shade
Mops loves this brick because it is cool. Pardon his botched hair cut.
I can’t wait until I have a yard! I am jealous!
Petzy, that is so cool. It looks like they love it there.
I’m so used to having my bunny with me in the house all the time. Do you ever feel too far away from them? Are you outside a lot?

Thank you Pam!![]()
I wish I had mine like you do, free in the house, but it is just not possible for my household. I had not planned on such an extreme rabbit playground but once I started I noticed I spend more time with them out there than when they are in their indoor condo in my basement at night. I just love being outside, maybe because winter here is so dreadful.
Thank you Petzy! it looks really really nice! and am i right you did this all for free? i found a lot of old boards at our new house so i am going to be able to make it more safe!
Oh my! Thanks for sharing Petzy
It is a wonderful hideout for your buns indeed
They all look so happy and content. So during the fall and winter, they are indoors, right?
Where did you get that blue carpet roll from? O_O!! I am curious..
And the other good news… when you have overnight guests, there’s an extra room for them to stay… just put in an inflatable mattress! ;o)

My rabbits come inside for the night, and stay indoors when blackflies are bad, or once it gets really hot in August. I found I have them out a lot these days but it really depends on the day; if I’m out, I have to lock my dogs indoors, and without them, the buns can’t stay out there either ~
I did buy some stuff. I spend the most on the hutch and also on wire mesh and the tarp. I did get the siding with the house we bought, the previous owners left some junk for us, (yeah, thanks
)
Beka, I could sleep in there and have considered it… I might do it once for the expperience. I would like to know what goes on exactly in my yard at night…in terms of wild animals. One morning I did find fox scat beside the pen. ![]()

oh, that thing! Well, that’s the other thing, some nice touches were gifted to me by people who kow how bunny-crazed I am. The carpet roll was a gift from member mrmac who is the Queen of the Carpet Tunnels, or rather her rabbit Dexter is the king of them.
mrmac’s Dexter in his carpet tunnel
you can get them in the cat section of some petstores.
They are the best tunnels I have found yet! My hubby is in the Marine Corps and I found the tunnel at the shopping store on base. They are the only tunnels I have found that are single tubes, no fancy jumps or ledges, or scratching posts. I have yet to find anywhere else that has them.
I’ll have to hunt around for one here. Moose loooves tunnels ![]()
Maybe mrmac can start distributing rabbit carpet tunnels as a small business…
Oooo, Petzy, camping out with bunnies!
I am so there. You HAVE to do it soon!!! Take night exposure movies. Bring a flashlight and teeny tiny smores made of pellet cookies.
Yes I totally would! They were such a great find!
