Can rabbits have blackberries?   I haven’t been able to find out either way so hopefully someone on here can tell me!  lol   I haven’t given them blackberries cause I wasn’t sure.  But the frozen berries I have that I was going to use to make their bisciuts contains blackberries so I thought I better check first.  I can separate out the fruit, but not the juice and of course I don’t want to give them anything poisonous or something.

Yes, Blackberry fruit, stems, leaves are fine.   Check out our veggie/fruit list https://binkybunny.com/Defau…4 for future reference.

You just want to check the label and make sure there is nothing added (extra sugar, syrup etc).  If it’s just frozen blackberries and nothing added, it’s fine.

On a side note: For anyone who is reading this and is thinking of getting blackberries fresh around the yard, just be sure they haven’t been treated/sprayed with pesticides.  Even if nearby grass was sprayed you will have to wash thoroughly as residual pesticides can settle on nearby plants.

Thanks! I will have to remember to check the label. Thanks for the reminder. lol I normally look at labels for dried fruits but it didn’t occur to me for frozen fruit. And hopefully the little persnicky bunnies will like the homemade biscuits. Is it bad that I’m not counting on it? LOL Every time I’ve tried to make the homemade toys, etc., they always snub them. haha

good point, BB. I am getting a new neighbor near my raspberry bushes and he has mentioned to have a problem with thistles… so I may have to let my berries go to waste once he treats his yard.

For now, the berries are just starting to ripen and Deirdra loves them, raspberries and blackberries alike.

Everytime I say her name and she comes she has gotten a treat or face rubs so now she comes for her name pretty reliably.

                        Thanks!
Getting back on topic here, I will now have to try giving the leaves of raspberries or blackberries as well, I never did that before. Thanks BB!
