Lily has been neutered for 2 months now, he  has now started mounting stuff again!! He destroy’s his cage, throws his food bowl around then mounts it!! He has been playing & mounting his frozen water bottles, his hay rattle ball, spraying in his phone book box, etc……  OH MY!! All of a sudden he uses his whole cage as his litter box, not the actual little corner one! ( but I did try to take the cage away from him & just have a litter box, but he got mad so I gave it back to him)

I was wondering if he’s bored, or if he’s upset with me ( I have been busy lately, have family down from far away) or if this is just normal for male bunnies to do this????  (the family loves animals too, so he has still been getting attention)

If family is down and his routine has been interrupted, he may just be cranky bunny. He may also not particularly want new people in his space right now, I know Monkey gets cranky when new people meet her.

            …….mounting his frozen water bottles………

sounds like he’s making his opinion about something known!

I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s not a fan of the company, and letting it be known LOL.
My rabbits will sometimes spray and wreck thing when a new rabbit or other animal is staying at out place.

Thank u, ya his rutine is off a little, but not much! They aren’t staying with us, but have been visiting! & we had the kids again this last weekend, & once again he pee’d in our bed! The other day he even nipped at one of the visiting family members, he has never nipped at anyone before! I give him a frozen water bottle every morning when it’s going to be really hot out, we have a/c but it can still get warm in the living room, I put it in a sock & he loves it, litterally! LOL! Just wondering if he needs a stuffed animal, or new toys or something else! On a good note, Boo’s, his cat swave, is grooming him! HEHE! So cute!

A stuffed animal would be a goood idea, I’d let him have one. Observe his behavior after your company leaves, though. Overexuberant mounting activity can be a sign of an illness or pain.

ok, he’s been fine, but after I feed him, he eats his pellets, but then flips the bowl & throws it around than mounts it! I feel his ears & they aren’t hot, he poo’s alot still & the poo’s are big. When I give him his water bottle, he pushes it around with his nose then he mounts it & does his business! I really hope my baby’s not sick! He plays good every morning & night, he seems like his normal self, just now he mounts his stuff again like he did before he was neutered!

can male rabbit’s, that are neutered, still have sexual urges? I think I saw that Jack, binkybunny’s, still has a stuffed bunny that he mounts too?

Usually it takes one month for the hormones to die down, but two can still be the tail end (pardon the pun) of the adjustment period. I’d give him a stuffed animal to have, and see how he reacts when the visitors leave for good. If he is still mounting, might want to have the vet check him in case anything was missed in the neuter.

Jack mounted excessively due to a problem on his bladder, so it actually was an indication of an illness. another good reason to check in with the vet in a few weeks at most if he hasn’t stopped this behavior.

I will make an app with the vets! He didn’t mount anything last night, but he did push around his bowls & water bottle! I kinda think he’s just playing when he does that! But I will be definately be bringing him in to get checked out! he hasn’t been doing it “excessively” like before he got neutered, just when he’s finished eating his pellets & when he first gets his frozen water bottle!
                          Thank u everyone!

I am also going to cut his pellets back abit!! I just realized he’s not eating as much hay or drinking as much water as usual & it’s been warmer in the house these last few weeks! Any suggestions how to get him to drink more water? & I am going to put a water bowl in our bedroom by his hay filled litter box too!

My bunnies get extra water viz me giving them nice damp veggies. That may help
