        Hi there ,

Our rabbit is now 3 years old and very healthy, We have noticed a few white spots on his unneaturerd testicals , really small , they look like
one of those tiny white zits us people get on our faces from time to time ^^ Any idea on what those might be ?  (a photo can be provided , didn’t want to post those kinds of photo in my inital query)

More concerningly is that there is also a small 6-8 millimeters black ball shaped cyst like something at the bottom of the srotum sack …
Not a very big concern , but wanted to ask in advance , planing to take hime to a well overdued vet visit tomorrow

        thank you

        Ralph

It’s possible it just may be a clogged pore. Are you planning on getting him neutered?

Let us know what the vet says……it is so hard to even try to guess what it might be from a description or picture- skin issues can have so, so many causes.

Vet’s Verdict , “Could be anything , or caused by anything” so the short answer , He didn’t know ….
He mentioned some kind of skin disorder , but I have my doubts about that.. I’ll wait a little and see how it will progress. Take pics and see if it grows or not , to cancel out cancer…

Are there any vet forums where it would be ok to post photos of the problem area and get some professional advice ? I could pay of course , but preferably a feeless help site ///

              thank you

              Ralph

It can be frustrating when a vet isn’t certain. Did he seem concerned?

I’m not sure about vet sites but you could post a question on allexperts.com I recommend asking Dana Krempels. http://www.allexperts.com/el/Rabbits/

It could off course be a simple matter or it could be a preventable disease like syphilis. Rabbit syphillis (sometimes called vent disease) can present with blistering on the genitals. Lesions can also appear around the mouth. It’s easily treated by penecillin injection.  If you do choose to ask your question online, a picture would be very useful. I’m aware also that you’ve found it difficult to find a good vet where you live. I would mention that also and see if they have suggestions for you.   Good luck!

Unfortunately it would be just about impossible to diagnosis a skin condition from a photo.  And usually when seen in person- there are often tests needed to determining what the cells are to come up with a possible diagnosis.

If your vet was not concerned I would take that as a good thing- if you trust your vet.  Was any testing recommended or any treatment?

I trust him about 50 – 50 , I don’t have many places to go , he mentioned that extensive blood works would possibly determine the cause and I asked him if he could cut it (the red/black ball like thing under the skin) away and he said he could do it, but would have to come back later. I have decided now to wait and see he the area progresses. The rabbit shows now signs what so ever of being sick at the moment.

The vet did ask if he was drinking excessive amounts of water these days , initially it didn’t come to mind that he was , but plan to observe a big closer from now on.

                    thank you

My first bunny had vent disease (rabbit syphilis) and he had sores on his privates. It was easily treated though. Look up “vent disease in rabbits” and though you may come across some extremes, it might be helpful.

I’d also ask your vet if he knows about rabbit syphilis/vent disease.
