  So tomorrow my boyfriend and I are bringing home our very first bunny! Now here is my question. What should I do once I get her here? Here cage is all ready to go, I have it set up and I have the essential supplies needed. Do I just put her right in the cage and let her alone for awhile? Do I let her walk around the area that we designated for her to be in when she isnt in her cage? If I let her in her cage for how long? When can I take her out so she can start to get to know us and get used to her surroundings?

  i would say let her get used to the cage and new smells but you can leave the cage door open so she can hop out if she wants but don’t push her, it might take her awhile. she might be scared and stay in her cage a few days or she might be curious and hop out and look around. just make sure she is comfortable. how big is her cage?

  I agree, let her get to know her cage and its smells. Let her reorganize, if she does, lol.
  
  New bunnies tend to be a little shy with their new surroundings and it will take a while for them to get adjusted to a new home.

  Thanks for the great advice her cage is 42X61X75 cm that is if I am reading the box the right way. She is tiny so it should be okay for now but I do realize that she won’t fit in it forever and she is going to need lots of play time outside of her cage. But it should be okay for now right?

  what kind of cage is it? how much time will she get out of her cage a day??? they will grow fast so i would be prepared to buy/ add on to the cage soon!

  Also, you don’t want to give too much freedom too fast as that is big disaster for litter box habits. Your bunny needs to recognize “her” space as hers and the rest of the house as shared or neutral so just gradually allow more freedom — not all at once. If you have an xpen or can confine her to one area or room for exercise too (temporarily) that will also be helpful.
  
  So tell us all about your new bunny! Is she a baby or an adult? What does she look like?

  The cage is similar to the one shown. but not exactly like that. Right now as we speak I have her door to the cage opened and a beach towel on the floor in front of her cage so hopefully she will hop out for a bit. To stretch her legs. I will keep in mind that I need to start looking for a new cage for her. She is a baby. I am not sure exactly how old she is – I am thinking like about 3 1/2 to 4 months. So I guess I should be prepared for adoclence bunny behavior at some point soon. But she is super cute. She is white with black markings all around. She has one blue and one brown eye. She has lop ears but the one kinda sticks up when she is more alert.
  
  She seems like a great little bunny. She used her litter box a little bit too! I was very proud. So today should I clean out the bottom of her cage and place what she did down there inside her litter box too or let everything just as it iis for a day or so? We are just really excited to have her. And I was super suprised and how concerned / attentive my boyfriend has been with her. I think she is going to fit in great here.
