kralspace, that sounds wonderful that Lola was so accepting of pets!
Fiver is VERY shy of any human contact and it’s taken me almost two years of having him to get him to accept a groom from me, his face and left rear flank are particularly sensitive subjects. (His ears used to be, but now he realizes I am not going to haul him around by them, so he LOVES his ear rubbies!)
I can’t come at him from behind, because I think he has miniature eyes in the back of his head somewhere and always sees me coming. He’ll spin around and snort at me for trying. Still..if I’m not careful and happen to bump his nose in an attempt to groom, he shakes his head at me fast and tries to whip my hands with his ear tips.
Mimzy and Pip will both come running for nose rubs. In fact, Her Majesty will not let me leave for at least 5 minutes from the time I begin…anything shorter is met with a grunt and more lowering of the head. And Mimzy expects each grooming to be completed with a treat (craisin, apd cookie, timothy treat, whatever…)
It’s so soothing to groom them. If I ever have a high blood pressure problem, I’ll know how to cure it!
P.S. Petzy…if you wake up one day and Mops is missing, I’ve bunnapped him. ^_^ lolz
