There are a lot of fireworks going off in my neighborhood today and the loud noises make Giselle nervous. I got in the pen with her to try to pet her and calm her down, but there isn’t too much space for me to sit or lay down with her. I end up sitting on this pet bed that she has, and she gets pretty pissed off when she’s sees me on it and starts nipping me. Does anybody have any other ideas on how I can keep her calm with all the noise? I would really appreciate it.

By the way, hope everyone is having a good holiday.

I would use other background noise such as a radio or TV that she is used to.

Rescue Remedy-I was skeptical when I tried it and didn’t think it worked. We tried it again- vets advice this weekend (much larger dose-she said it can be dosed much higher then the label for extreme duress) for my dog. It didn’t put a dent in his car anxiety (which he’ll be getting stronger drugs for) but there were fireworks and it calmed him down MUCH sooner. He will shake for hours from noise like fireworks-even just one going off. He calmed within 1/2 an hour which is a BIG improvement. So definitely something to have on hand for things like that.
