What kind of stitches did she have for the spay? The dissolving internal kind? Did she have to have any outer stitches removed or did the vet use glue? SOmetimes they can have a reaction to the material of the stitches. Also, there can be adhesions develop at the scar site but I doubt it’s anything like that. It’s only being 2 weeks. If you are really concerned, just book a post op follow up for her or even ring and mention your concerns to the vet.

What you describe sounds a bit like what I see when mine have minor discomfort. If they have a little gas they can do a belly press. Sometimes, they just do a weird stretch too for no apparent reason.

I had internal stitches and about 2 or 3 weeks after the op i would get an itch inside my stomach that I could not get to and I found that stretching would make it go away, what it is, is the internal stitch disolving and rubbing against something and the strech moves it. Maybe it’s that?

Sammy can stretch like that, so it sounds pretty normal. Have you been able to look at the site to see if it’s healed completely and is a normal color now? Is the fur growing back in? If it’s not in all the way, it could be itchy, too. I’d say if anything looks at all off visually, a post op visit wouldn’t hurt.
