        Hey guys.

Freddie and Karl are not getting on that well and early this morning, they had a fight. Freddie’s eye is red and doesn’t look too good. We removed a bit chunck of pus earlier today, and I am cleaning it with chamomille tea on a regular basis…I cannot get a hold of a vet before tomorrow morning (it is 5 pm here).

Is there anything I can buy or do to soothe and heal the eye until I can see a vet??

There is really nothing else you can do that I can think of.  Depending on what is wrong with the eye determines any sort of treatment and using “left over” meds if you had them can make things worse.  If an eye is scratches/has an ulcer using eye meds that have a steroid in them inhibits the healing.  An eye that is just red, inflammed often needs drops with steroids to reduce the inflammation.

I would recommend getting him into a vet as soon as possible.  Please keep us updated!

My guess is that Karl may have scratched his eye. I’m just kind of freaking out now, because I was expecting it to get better and it doesn’t…and I am no good, when it comes to bloor or eye issues. The eye is just really bloodshot.

But he is eating (a little bit) and grooming Molly, so I guess he is as fine as one can be with a sore and itchy eye Why do things like this always happen in the weekends? Well, at least it didn’t happn on a Friday evening.

            Thanks for your reply!

So, I called the vet this morning who told me to wash it with some eye washer. So, I went to the vet to buy it, and the receptionist was not only rude, but she gave me something which I kept asking if it was right because it didn’t look like it, which she claimed it was. So, I bought it and went home to google it and find that it was for cleaning the area around the eye to keep your dog pretty. Great. So, I went to the pharmacy to get the right wash…only to find that Freddie has a big lump over his eye

So, now we are going back to the vet in 4 hours. Poor Freddie! And stupid lady!

I’d FREAK OUT on that chick if I were you. don’t stand for this, I’d definitely complain.

Good luck with the bunbun… (: I bet you’ll laugh about this later.

Freddie is okay. He has been checked by the vet now, and his upper eyelid is a bit torn, and that is why the is a big lump, but there is no infection. And vet told me to just leave it, but keep an eye on it. Phew!

So, now that I’m not worried anymore, it is time to be angry with myself for letting Freddie escape into Karl’s area. Gotta get those bonding sessions started soon!
