Hmm, I would be afraid that dirt would have lots of impurities in it (like fertilizer), make the bunny very dirty, and not absorb very well.

I think you’d run out of dirt quickly with the amount a bunny’s box needs to be changed, not to mention, the bunny would be very dirty and that would get all over your house. Probably not a good idea. ;o)

I could find a lot of dirt that is clear..haha I mean ho fertilizers. But yeah I think that if she peed on it it would be mud then…oh never mind I’m just trying to find a type of a cheaper litter :/

Have you searched for woodstove pellets or horse stall bedding? That’s the cheapest they come.

Woodstove pellets is the most expensive litter in greece and it is what I use.. The cheapest here is sawdust but it gets all over the house and makes my bunny sneeze 1-2 times.
                  What’s horse stall bedding?

Same thing as woodstove pellets, but it’s used as bedding in horse stalls. I’m not familiar with Greece. Do you have horses and barns there? You have to use inexpensive bedding for horses b/c you need SO MUCH of it.

I imagine horse stall bedding might be easier to find, since it’s probably not cold enough in Greece to have a lot of wood stove pellets around. Look for something that is pelleted pine, just like the wood stove pellets.

If you absolutely can’t find anything, another option would be newspaper changed once or twice daily, or straw/hay changed frequently.
