ok, I throw in the towel, you guys were right.
Charlie is now a part of the family for good. His vet check went well, he hopped out of the carrier and began kissing up to everyone, Dr. Erving picked him up and showed him around to the office staff when she took him out to weigh him. 3 lbs of cuteness, perfect teeth, poopy was clean under the microscope, other tests were clean, no fleas, mites, etc. very friendly to cats, dogs and everybody.
She was surprised at how healthy he was to be so urine stained. He definitely smelled better after the baths, but the dark yellow will just have to grow out I guess.
She’s guessing he’s 4-5 months, intact. I had to laugh when she was checking the family jewels, the sacks were in plain sight, but empty. She started cooing at him and petting him on the tummy and he just relaxed, closed his eyes and out they popped into view, it was so funny. He wasn’t tranced, he was just totally chilling…
She said they were very tiny (and then apologized to him, sorry, Charlie), enough so that she checked him over again, but still thinks he’s 4-5 months. We’ll wait a bit to neuter him just to make sure. The rascal sat there and practically opened his mouth for her so she could check his molars.
So for everyone who will tell me “I told you so”, here’s Charlie. I’ll be going back and reading all the threads about bonding trios now.

awwwww……… welcome charlie!
Glad to hear he’s in good health
Congrats on the new Human, Charlie! hehe
He’s a lucky bunny to have found you! I’m glad he got a clean bill of health too.
Aww he is so cute! Congrats!
I will be following your bonding adventure of a trio!
WOOHOO!!!
He sounds to eb just such a sweet heart too, so i don’t blame ya for not being able to say no!
What a lucky guy to have found such a great forever family! Congratulations!
he’s adoreable
congrats on your new addition!
YAY Charlie!
kralspace has a new rabbit? What is your plan for him? Is he going to be somebunny’s buddy? Or just yours?
I’m hoping I can bond him with Pringles and Toby after he’s neutered. After losing Simba and Hershey I enlarged the other two rabbit condos and and the guinea pig’s place so now it would be really really crowded with another full size condo squeezed into the room. Right now he’s in a petstore cage and I let him run around the house when the others are locked up.
I was afraid of fights once Pringles and Toby found his cage, but they were very laid back about it, nothing hormonal at all. They just kinda visited a bit through the bars and went back to their condo. No humping, marking, or any aggressive behavior towards him. You’d have to know the tempermental Godzilla Pringles to know how unusual that is.
Petzy,
There is something that makes me sad, when he sees a mirror he gets real excited and tries to get next to it, making soft noises, like BB said Jack used to do after he was separated from his mate. I’m hoping he takes to either couple of mine.
Neigey did that. He was very much interested in his reflection in the mirror… only he would box at it! I think Charlie is in ‘love’ with the bunny in the mirror, maybe he will try to court it… hehe
Welcome Charlie!!!!!!!!
He is very handsome.
Yay! To tell you the truth, I’ve sort of been suspecting a new bunny would be coming into your life. (I’m sorry if that sounds annoyingly presumptuous…
) You must be relieved his health has checked out ok. It’s sounds like if you couldn’t take him in, Dr Erving might have been a candidate. She always sounds like a great vet with the bunnies.
He does have a youth look about him. I wonder how big he will grow? Give the cornstarch dry bath a go for the yellow areas. I did this recently on Jerseys fur around the tail. I was surprised at how it cleaned her up. It was light staining so I don’t know how effective it’ll be on the hocks.
Charlie might like a Pringles/Toby scented stunt double for the meantime. This might help start things in the bonding department.
Yay! How exciting!! He is a cutie pie! ![]()
D’awes! No ‘toldyaso’ here…just congrats! ^_^ I’m thinking of that new Disney sitcom “Good Luck, Charlie” about the family with the three kids that winds up with the ‘oops’ baby girl.
He seems absolutely precious and WHAT a charmer! ^_^ That is almost how lovey-dovey Mimzy gets with Dr. H here…I am certain he’s got a crush on her! xD
And now Miss Pringles gets her way again! lolz….She’s going to have a bunny harem in reverse by the time she’s through!
Wow. I have to say I am shocked you are keeping him.
Just kidding! I’m not surprised at all!!!! He is such a cutie!!! Congrats!
HiYa, Chuck! (Imitates Peppermint Patty)
Chuck’s new digs
Just spent the morning rebuilding the piggies condo, changing it from a 2 level to a bottom level for the piggies, and added a half level to the top so charlie will have 1 and half floors for now. Once he’s neutered and bonded with one of the couples (trying to think positive here) then the piggies will have a huge condo.
It has been a stressful week, I’ve been with adult rabbits for 4 years now and Charlie is like having a toddler in the house again, and i’m wwayyyyy to old for that chasing…lol. At least now he has a larger place to hang out so I can give the other’s their playtimes again.

I sat Charlie in it and he walked around it once, then binkied two laps, it was awesome to watch. Then he flopped down behind the little support column. Took him about 5 minutes to figure out how to jump to the upper level and realize how close he is to Pringles and Toby. I guess after spending the week in the small petstore cage he would have been happy anywhere, but it was so cute.

the toes are still really dirty!

Mr. Cool just jumped to the upper level.

awww, congrats to you!
Hehehe so cute! Nice set up you have there!
And yeah, once that white fur gets stained it’s nearly impossible to get clean… Both Jeannie and Leroy have greenish black feet from the hay (green) and the newspaper ink (black) in their litter boxes. ![]()
How did I miss these photos? You have condos on wheels, how smart. This gives me an idea for bonding Charlie…if there is a fight you just start wheeling the condo back and forth. ![]()
Charlie seems to be completely littertrained. Over the last 2 weeks I’ve found maybe a dozen misplaced poops and no pee spots. He’s friendly, easy to handle, littertrained, not showing any hormonal terrorizing, why on earth would someone not want this guy?
I guess they wanted you to have him ![]()
hahaha, good one Sarita 😉
he was answering to his name by the second day. When Michael originally wanted a rabbit, he wanted to train it for therapy assistance. Well, Ms. Pringles wasn’t ok with that and none of the others seemed suited either, but maybe this guy is.
