Here are a couple previous threads with good info.  I also have a thread currently started in the Lounge entitled “Bulldogs”.

Rough coated Collie. He’s terrified of my bun, and avoids him like the plague. Which is hilarious, since he’s 30x bigger than my bun.

I have 2 pugs and they are wonderful with my bun Pixie!! They are so sweet with her. They give kisses and everything. Pixie will hop past Brody and do a little karate kick jump like she is showing off! So cute!

I have 2 Australian Shepherds- and even though they both have a strong herding instinct- they do not chase or harrass the bunnies.  The dogs are more interested in eating any stray poos.  When the bunnies are out- the dogs are out and they are allowed to be together.  If the dogs think the bunnies have been still for too long- they go nudge them to check underneath for poos.

I don’t post much (just an avid reader of the forum!) but I had to respond to this post because I wanted to share pictures of my bun Leo and his best bud, Cody, my golden retriever…this is how they are 90% of the time! (I hope the pics work because I don’t know if I know how to post them correctly)

I know they really are quite the pair…sometimes when I take Cody out for a long walk or hike and then come home , Leo gets all excited that his friend has returned and races around the apartment! Leo also appears to be “dominant” over Cody…if Leo wants more space on their blankie, Cody (the dog) will move over and give him more room to flop! They are definitely two peas in a pod. My friends that I invite over to the apartment are always shocked to see the two of them constantly together!

                              I love those pictures!

I have a dog too, but I just got him a month ago, so I’m SLOWLY doing introductions with him. Hopefully I can get my dog an the bunnies to that point that Cody and Leo are!

                                Omg those photos are precious!

I have a Pomeranian and a Rat Terrier. Our ratty is not a year old yet and I don’t trust her with them…the name of her breed just scares me too much. My Pom wags his tail to visit them and is curious but a little scared at the same time. The pom is only allowed near them if I am there. They don’t really interact though. The pom just sits under my desk or goes into their cage to steal carrots while they are under the bed.

I think a lot depends entirely on the dog…Cody has no sign of a prey drive, but also went through Puppy 1, Puppy 2, Highschool, and College training classes before I got Leo, so I was able to set down the rules pretty easily when Leo joined the family. Leo was young (~10 weeks), and never a shy rabbit, so right from the beginning he would cuddle up with Cody and nose-punch him for attention. I think I just massively lucked out with the combination of a low-drive dog and a bold rabbit! I don’t currently have a second rabbit for Leo to bond with, so Cody is his companion; he even grooms him on occasion (I have yet to see Cody return the favor, however 🙂 ).

I don’t know if I will ever have this luck again bonding canine and rabbit, but it certainly is fun to watch!

I have one dog (terrier) that wants to eat my buns. And another terrier poodle mix who is great with them!

Thanks Beka! I think they are beautiful too, but then again I am partial 🙂 Leo is 2 1/2 yrs now and Cody is about 4 1/2…

Just because I can’t resist, here is one more of my dynamic duo! I caught them both sleeping on the bed and they know they aren’t allowed on there!
