Ι’ve been talking to a local vet (in my town, no thessaloniki) and he said tha a bunny’s spay is very similar to a cat’s spay and that even though he has never spayed a bunny he would do it with no problem cause he has experience with spaying cats. What do know about that? Has any of your vets even mentioned that? I’m just wondering, not thinking about spaying my bunny there.

Spaying rabbits is very different. Rabbits require different anesthesia, their heart rates are much higher, their skin is different, everything. They require special training. I would definitely not get my rabbits spayed by someone who has never done one.

I worry about his comment. He should really have been talking about the differences and not the similarities.

I’ve read somewhere on http://www.rabbit.org that you have to make sure that the vet actually understands the difference between a cat and a rabbit spay, because it is quite different. So noooooo. Stay away from that vet.

Please do not let that Vet spay your rabbit. I agree with all the previous posts! If you go to rabbits.org they have a list of questions you should ask a veterinarian when trying to find the right one to spay your rabbit. They also have listings of qualified veterinarians separated by states. That is where I found mine!

                  Eep, biggg difference 😮
I would find a vet that is experienced with doing rabbit spays/neuters!!
You will feel more confident leaving your bunny in good hands.
