         Hello all,

My rabbit just fell about two feet and landed on her back. She flipped over and is running around fine. Her spine feels fine and she does no show any pain or aggression while examining her. The only thing that happened so far is her nose bled very little. She was sneezing pretty roughly and then that was it. It is no longer bleeding. it bled about two drops worth. She is wanting her treats and is running around. When she went back into her cage, she lied down like normal also.

Should I be worried? How should I monitor her overnight? Is this serious enough to take a trip to the emergency vet? Help!

        ????

Since she fell on her back, I’d probably bring her for a regular appointment tomorrow morning. I’m not sure why she sneezed blood, but I think I’d be a little worried it had something to do with her lungs or throat.

Just watch her really closely tonight. If you see any sudden changes in her behavior, you should probably get her to the ER vet right away…remember that by the time bunnies are noticeably in pain, it might be too late.

That is exactly what I am worried about. I made an appointment for 5pm tomorrow. I will be so worried tonight…

Is 5pm the earliest you get in? Is there any possible way the Vet can squeeze you in for an emergency visit in the morning? Most Vets will do that. I would call first thing in the morning to see if they can possibly squeeze you in. I would watch your bunny closely. I’m sorry! I really hope your bunny will be okay. *chances are she is okay* you just need to make sure.

It’s good you’re taking her to the vet tomorrow. It’s understandable how anxious and worried you are. And sooner rather than later would be the best time for the vet to check her. Try to get some sleep yourself but if it makes you feel better to check on her throughout the night, that’s understandable. Sounds like you’re a very good bunny mom. I’m sorry about her accident but it sounds like she pulled through. Maybe the way your bunny fell, it was similar to a kid falling from a tree limb and getting a nosebleed? Anyway, you’re being alert and aware for changes in your bunny sounds like what any of us in that situation would do. Did you search the forum or maybe Google for “nosebleed in rabbit?” I’m hoping someone else might have posted something similar that you can benefit from. Your bun is adorable? Is that a diaper on her in your avatar photo? Do you diaper your bunny or is that just the way her little white underside looks in the light? Hang in there and best wishes she’s okay and continues to be okay.
