  Last night at around 1AM we were awoken by one of the bunnies thumping loudly and it turns out someone was actually trying to kick our front door in!! Would you “Adam and Eve” it??
  
  We both jumped out of bed ran to the from door shouting (whilst nearly tripping over the bunny pen) and this seemed to scare the pilfering b*stards off. We immediately called the Police who were just cokmpletely useless. Having explained it was less than 5 minutes ago they pretty much said there was nothing they could do as the criminals had run off. And that was that! No “we’ll send someone round in the morning” or anything!
  
  Thing is, this is probably the 8th or 9th incident we’ve heard of in our building in the last month and I’ve already spoken to a detective about a very similiar incident involving one of our neighbours who had a load of stuff stolen. I have actually seen the person who’s been accused of a couple of these break-ins because he knocked on our door one night, obviously casing out the place.
  
  It just makes me furious, that there are so many low-life, benefit claiming, work avoiding parasites in our country and that the Police seem absolutely powerless to do anything about it.
  
  It’s now 12 hours after this happened, no one has called us back, sent anyone round or anything. Sorry for the rant, but it’s just so frustrating that you work hard to make a living, look after youir home and possessions and these idiots seem to think it’s OK just to go round and try and take it by force.

  How scary…and how brave of a burglar to make so much noise? What the heck!? I think it’s time to get a big scary dog and time to move out!

  Yeah the burgulars aren’t the sharpest tools in the box, I don’t now about brave probably just drunk from what we’ve seen and heard!

  In my city, if someone steals 3 cars, they get convincted. Why do they wait until 3 are stolen?
  
  I am glad that you are safe, and I am saddened that police cannot be stationed at the apartment

  Yep the Police can seem pretty useless sometimes. Well quite often actually. Not at all efficient like on Law n Order.
  
  Too bad. Hope that lazy bum doesn’t come back
  
  Here in Florida there is a homeless man going around calling in bomb threats saying if the whoever doesn’t leave $ in a bag outside he will blow up the place.
  
  He has called Walmart Walgreens the Eau Gallie High School Hospitals even a bank. So far as of last nite 25 bomb threats.
  
  Nothing is ever found but the people are still being evacated. The pic of the dude has been flashed all over tv. I suppose if you homeless and your homeless homies have no access to tv they don’t know to turn him in.

  Whoa! That’s pretty scary. I hope you guys have good locks on your doors and a baseball bat by the bed.
  
  Btw, I cracked up when I saw your “Adam and Eve”. Love Cockney rhyming slang! I think people in the states need to start using it in conversation.

  terrifying story… wow. and the police wouldn’t even patrol the area to see if anyone was lurking or running away? 5 mins is not a huge lead for an idiot theif.
