Pixe is 7 weeks old and was wondering how much pellets I should be feeding her a day. I give her 1/8-1/4 cup a day. But by the afternoon it is gone. I feel bad…should I be giving her more?

At her age she can have unlimited pellets. To get an idea of what she will eat, put out something like 1 cup full and measure what is left (if any) the next day. If say thereis 1/4 left, you can assume she eats around 3/4 cup a day. At this stage, put out more than less and you;ll soon know roughly how much she consumes and can adjust accordingly. Make sure she has unlimited hay also. Young rabbits eat alot and poop alot. They have a pretty fast metabolism.

Thanks Jerseygirl…yes she eats a lot of hay also. So she is eating her pellets a lot and loves them so I am glad I can give her more now.

I agree with Jersey. I think Otto was eating about 1/2 cup at that age. I would give him 1/4, then when he finished it by the evening I would give him some more. That way I could tell if he was eating at his normal speed, slowing down, not eating, etc. If you just fill up the bowl it can be really hard to tell if they go off their food.
