this morning I was rudely awoken by Indy thumping like crazy. Nothing I did calmed him. I tried petting, he grunted and ran away. Since I was asleep when this started, I don’t think it was him showing affection. occassionally he thumps at odd hours, but for a few minutes only and he can be easily distracted with a bit of hay or something. This time it was closer to 45min!! The only thing I can think of thats different is my boyfriend moved out. Is it possible that hes just unhappy with this change? Whenever one of us is gone for a day or two he digs at our pillows or looks towards the door if he thinks he hears the door chime, but this- this is a little extreme!?!? Maybe the warmer weather coming in? TIA

How old is Indy and is he neutered?

He’s been neutered for almost a year! This morning he wasn’t being a pain, other than his usual self. >_< Maybe something disturbed him in the middle of the night and I was too asleep to notice. I guess I might never know…

Did you boyfriend move out one of these days? Because that could definitely cause it. At least, Molly would definitely react like that to a change like this. She expresses her moods with thumping, and eg. when Jack died I couldn’t calm her down either.

45 minutes is a lot though!

When my neighbor started a new job at a new school (he’s teacher) , he had to get up at 5am, and he had to load his car up with books and stuff. Every time he would close the door, and then the trunk, and the the other door, etc. Jack would thump like crazy. It took Jack two weeks to get used to it and stop doing it, but it woke me up every single morning until Jack finally calmed down about it. So what I am saying is maybe something different is going on that you are not aware of. I know you said your BF moved out — did he have an am routine that your bunny was used to? And now that those familiar noises aren’t around, he may be hearing “new” noises.

If it’s not that, then does he seem like it could be health related — Pain related? Is he eating and pooping fine?

I think we’re over it. Yes, my BF did have an early morning routine, but that ended a week prior to this! I guess Indy was just mad when he realized my BF wasn’t coming back… me I sleep much better with the bed to myself! HAHA

Hes eating, pooping, begging for treats *eye roll*
