Do any of your bunnies have beds?? I have noticed that Pixie likes to sleep on her second floor of crate which just has the sheets that look like they are made of hay?? Got them at Petco. Although today she napped in her ferret tunnel I bought but mostly she rests on second floor on that mat. I want to get her a comfy bed but not sure if bunnies sleep in beds or not….

I just want my little Pixie to be comfy and love her home which she seems like she likes so far!!

OH yes! My buns LOVE their beds

          Bee’s bed

Indy’s bed (leave it to the boy to have the dirtiest one lol)

Or……they might just choose YOUR bed!

Now is that a cat bed or do they make beds for buns? I am going to get her one tomorrow! This is so exciting!!

              They are both cat beds

I found the basket one at petco and the gross one Indy loves at Target.

They also sell ones here on BB under the “supplies section” They are really nice, I’ve seen them at the store to use in dog kennels I think. Very soft.

Lintini, that pic of Bun……so cute!   All I could think was –

Pixiesmum, don’t worry if Pixie ignore the new bed. Some just prefer harder surfaces. Some like the bare floor. I imagine she can survey from a sleep shelf so maybe that’s why she likes it.  You can try a little bed a but it might get ignored at first. I had one and my rabbit only took to it after I got my second rabbit!

I think I will just get those flat comfy looking ones that are used for dog crates. I have a petedge near me that sells them for a good price or just might order one from the store on here.

I have the BB one and sometimes they lounge on it, but they’re just as happy laying on the carpeting or bare floor.

Monkey loves her bed. I put my hubby’s old shirts over them so she gets more used to his scent.. she keeps growling at him Its just a little kitty bed, one of the fleece ones. She is always sleeping in it.

Some buns like them, and some don’t.  My Pepper will kick everything aside in order to lay on teh bare tile or floor.

This is what Zeus does as well.  I think he gets hot easily, so he likes laying on the bare floor the best.  He loves having a fan pointed at his cage even if it’s only like 70F.  I may be turning the AC on just for him (I don’t get hot easy) this summer!

My bunnies also like the soft beds but Jack will go back and forth between the big monster bed I made he and Viv (you can see it on the webcam when the cams are on) and the regular rug, and the “cooling” ceramic tiles. Viv hangs out on the big DIY bed, the soft furry bed (that we sell in the store) and the rug. Some bunnies will pee all over them like but I am lucky that Jack and Vivian don’t seem to feel the need to pee on their soft bedding.

If I give Stormy bedding of any kind, he just tears it up instead of laying on it. He prefers to nap places like around the toilet and under the stand my stereo sits on top of (the shelf is the perfect height that he sandwiches himself in there – perhaps he views it as a warren).

At this point Pixie, I’d just stick with blankets and things that can be easily washed. Her littertraining will probably be off and on for awhile now. Later when she’s bigger and has a better handle on the box, then would be a good time to try and introduce a bed. If buns get into the habit of peeing on fabric and soft surfaces, that’s a HARD one to break!!! And it will translate to couches and beds where you absolutely do not want bunny pee!

Sammy is such an opposites sort of bunny.

She LOVES her cuddle cup for eating her meals – sits in it and reaches her food dish so she can eat while sitting comfortably. But she pushes it aside so she can sleep on the smooth plastic cage floor. She wouldn’t even use the fleece cat bed the night she got home from being spayed. She hunched on the plastic until I removed it, then she stretched out.

And I had her wicker basket ready for her to sit, sleep or play in as a diggy box and she ignored it. Until I turned it upside down: now it’s her favorite hidey hole and she naps on the rug under there.

                                      Silly bunny.

My bunnies can take or leave beds. I got one for Otto over a year ago and he never used it until recently. Now he’ll use it, but prefers the cardboard maze haven to a soft bed.

Strangely, Otto just likes to lay on anything that is a different surface than the surroundings. If he’s in the living room, with the nice rug, he’ll lay on his phone book, or even a piece of phone book paper. In his pen, he’ll lay on a random piece of cardboard. Not sure why he does it.

Mine like to pee on the beds so I took them out.   I might wash them and try them again cuz they are older now.  Ruby might like one.

All your buns look so cute on their beds and on their parents beds too.

Beka & Bunnytowne…Gulliver peed on his the first time we introduced it to him. We took it out, washed it and stored it. Ken decided to cut out the middle because it was plastic (then a padded insert goes over that). We put it down with a fleece blanket over it and he hasn’t slept anywhere since (at night). During the day he sleeps either in one of the boxes in the family room or on the fleece blanket just folded up in front of the fireplace (which we don’t use anymore because Lainey freaks out! Gulliver would probably enjoy it…he will sit in front of the heater at times! So, if Pixie doesn’t take to it, try again at a later date.

well found what Pixie likes! She gets to roam dining room and I have this black ( cant describe material) purse that has Tinkerbell on it. It has been on the floor and every time i open door for her to roam she goes right over that that purse and lies on it. So tonight I put it on her second floor of her cage and when it was time for bed up she went to lie on it! LOL….She loves that tinkerbell purse. After all she is named after Tinkerbell (well her Pixie dust!)

once she started eating it, i bought a small handmade cloth one, and now she doesn’t use it at all…..Wish she did!

Bunz never do what we want! hehehe!  Our cat Lucy REFUSES to sleep in any cat bed or on fleece blankets.  She’ll sleep on “her” (the guest room) bed or one of ours, but prefers the sheets or top blanket.  If I was a cat………………………….!!!
