Pixie’s breeder has been feeding Pixie Pellets, Hay, and Mint leaves. Should I just stick to this or should I add in another green veggie along wtih the mint so she gets used to other greens? I obviously want to give her a variety I just dont know what I can add to the mint…romaine, parsley….etc

Baby buns generally aren’t started on veggies until at least 12 weeks (some people say 6 months). If she was eating them with mom, it’s probably ok, but I wouldn’t give her anything unfamiliar for at least another month or two. Their tummies are very sensitive when young and greens can set off a gut imbalance.

Ok so I should just stick with pellets and hay? No Mint?

Well if she had mint leaves before she should be fine with them now. Anything else besides the mint leaves? And I would just give her a few.

I think she meant she is feeding Pixie, the bunny, pellets. Haha

LOL, I think you are right Elrohwen – I read it a few times and just wondered if she named Pixie after her pellets or if this was a new pellet out there on the market named after Pixie. It would be a cute name for a pellet – Pixie Pellets. I guess that’s what happens when you get old – you get confused.

I would avoid greens until she is a little bit older. Don’t want to upset her tummy, especially during this transition phase of being in a new home with lots of stressors.

I think she should be fine with a small amount of a very basic green, like romaine lettuce. Maybe half a leave to start to see how she does. I’ve heard 12 weeks or longer, but really there’s no danger in introducing greens earlier, as long as you watch to see how she is tolerating it.

well I felt bad one of the girls i have in my daycare her mom brought over carrots with the tops. So I gave her a very small amount of the greens and she ate it fine. Poops still the same. I did give her a small amount last night just to get her back in cage for night as she was playing and didnt want to go back in. She seemed to love it.
