What do you mean letting him out? Letting him outside, or inside? Definitely don’t let him go outside unless you have a secure area for him to be in where no predators can get to him, and where no pesticides or anything have been sprayed.

If you don’t want him digging in the ltiterbox, get a grate to go on top of hte litter, and then make him a special diggy box that he is allowed to dig in. Bunnies love to dig!

You could make him a digging box.
Any sort of box will do, i’ve used cardboard ones and cat litter boxes with lids. Fill it full of fun things to dig in. Shavings, shredded paper and litter are some things.

If you want to allow him to dig outside, a rabbit proofed area ina part of your yard will work, of if he is ok with a harness you can take him out that way. many of my bunnies love to dig in the sand/dirt and then flop in the little holes they made.
