Those look like cecals. Those are the kind of poos that they will re-eat. They will eat them so you usually don’t see them. Do all of his poos look like this?

yes i knew they were cecals but i didn’t remember what they were called and didn’t want to embarrassed my self trying spell it no they weren’t all like that, the only time he did this was when i let him out to play when i put him back he didn’t do it any more. am i correct that cecals have fiber in them and when they have to much fiber they don’t eat them? i can’t remember. should i change somthing in his diet ?or not

It’s too much carbohydrates that can cause excess cecals. Things like sugary treats, fruits and even pellets.  Fibre is good!! Actually, if he consistantly produces too many cecals that he hasn’t eaten, you can just give him hay for a day and skip pellets and treats. It doesn’t look too bad though. If he does this every day you might need to tweak his diet, but sometimes they leave random cecals. It might be even that he can’t reach them easily so he needs to turn around and eat them after. I seem to remember somebody said that they don’t tend to eat them once they’ve touched the ground though….

Mine will use them as a way to tell me dinner is entirely unacceptable. Pringles will sniff my offering, dig through it to make sure there’s nothing she wants and then just make of big show of ‘never mind, I’ll just eat these”

I agree that they’re cecals. But I think it looks like a bit of fur may be mixed in there? Definitely add the hay and just give a bit less of the rest, so the hay can clean out the system. Is he shedding at all?

A thought: be sure to have unlimited hay at all times. That way, if you go out for the night and forget again, he will have the best food option for the night, even if you aren’t giving him anything else. and thank your Mom – you would have been unhappy if she’d forgotten to feed you once in a while.
