Besides the bunnies toys.. have there been times when your bun(s) have chewed on stuff they weren’t supposed to?
I lay in my bun’s playpen area, and I sometimes fall asleep for a half an hour and realize that I was sleeping ![]()
ChaCha doesn’t nibble on my shirts that I wear, but she LOVES to nibble on my sweatshirt or hoodie if I am wearing one
I have gotten to the point that I don’t care anymore
I think of it as a tug for attention ![]()
Another story, I had camped out for a while in the playpen, and I took my pillow and blanket inside along with my DS. I was playing Pokemon and I closed the DS and shut my eyes for a moment …
If I put down my DS in the playpen, I always put it under my pillow.. but.. I forgot this time.
I woke up to chew chew chew chew chew ![]()
It was only 2 bite marks.. but sigh
How could I be mad? It was my fault..
Lol, oh yes…my buns have destroyed many an item in my home.
All my remote controls and phones are missing at least half their buttons.
Bindi destroyed a brand new alarm clock (we owned it less than 24 hours) by cutting the cord right in half. I even blocked the area with pillows but I guess that just tipped him off there was something there he wasn’t supposed to get.
Lots of shoes have little Stormy bites out of them. He also hates when I wear anything with sleeves so he likes to leave little bite marks in them.
And books, lots of damaged books. And DVD box sets. Bindi loves chewing the cardboard DVD boxes.
There are so many other things I just can’t think of right now…bad bunnies.
Olivia is pretty good about not chewing stuff. She’s always too busy chinning everything when she’s out to chew it.
Olivia says: this is mine, and mine and mine *CHIN CHIN CHIN*
My bunny chinned my leg the other day!!
I forgot to add: the comcast remote.. oh yes. Just a few bites before I realized that she got to it!! I was flipping through channels and I put it down next to me… and she came to chew it!!
EVERYTHING in Lainey’s way! If our recliner chairs are too close to the end table and she can’t get through, she nibbles on the edges…couch too…drapes too…she is a chewer! Ken’s first bun, Phinneaus liked the remote controls and shoe laces – nothing else though! Gulliver could care less unless it is food!
Monkey isn’t a chewer. She nibbled baseboards when she was a baby, but she stopped as she got older. She’s a major chinner though. She will chin everything. Every day. She makes rounds to re-chin stuff. lol
Moose.. he loooves chewing. But so far he has stuck to cardboard and has left the furniture alone.
Just yesterday I moved my Xbox 360 down the hallway a little so i could hook it up to the too-short internet wire to play online and Sweetie came out to investigate…First she chinned every corner of it then started eating the memory card that sticks out! 😐
my bun will try to chew on everything. he has to be supervised at all times.
i have to say the worst time is cage cleaning time. i’ll be on my hands and knees to clean his cage and he’ll jump in my lap and start chewing holes in my clothes. sigh. i dont mind but my parents get upset when i let him do it
Hmm I’m noticing a pattern… the bunnies that don’t chew are major chinners. Lol. Jeannie chins everything. She even chins my hands/legs/feet when she’s out playing! She doesn’t chew on anything unless I’ve given it to her… though she has tasted my couch – hasn’t done any damage. Leroy on the other hand is all about chewing! The TV remotes are his favorite. The Time Warner cable remotes have zillions of buttons and… I’m on my 5th or 6th remote (in a period of 7 months!) Thank goodness TW is good about just replacing remotes without asking questions, lol. I’ve manged to keep my current remote “un-nibbled” so far! He also loves loves loves charger cords, the little rubber strap thing that is on my Dell AC adapter to wrap around the cord, leather shoes… carpet.. Lol. What a stinker. He’s got me well trained now – I’m MUCH better now at picking up stuff that I don’t want nommed!
Mimzy will chin AND chew. Like Chacha he seems to prefer sweats (pants or shirt) and he’s tried all he can to put a hole in the mini fleece blanket I got him for bed cuddles, but so far he hasn’t gone hard enough to put a hole in yet.
Luckily it was your DS Brittany…Fiver tried yanking my DSi out of my hands by the upper screen when I wasn’t paying enough attention to him one evening. I’d just gotten it and was worried he’s broken the casing because he had grabbed it so hard. But luckily not a scratch. The DS itself is a little thicker and harder to manipulate by little bunny jaws.
We have multiple books of my daughters’ that have all gotten the “Bunny Stamp of Disapproval” over the years. However, Fiver loves it if she’ll come in and read to him in the evenings. ^_^ He’ll grab his little apple plushie and nuzzle it and stretch out and you can see he’s listening to her every word! ![]()
I’m with you MimzMum…Lainey chews AND chins. Just an active girl!
Mimz, such wonderful, naughty bunnies you have
I discovered that ChaCha loves it when I’m talking with her, or talking on the phone next to her, or with people that are at my house!! It makes her happy
(I see the binkies, jumps and playfulness!)
Rabbits are so smart! Without a doubt, rabbits are VERY intelligent ![]()
There are huge holes in the floor where they’ve plucked out pieces of carpet, one of the rubber buttons on my remote is chewed off, my rabbit like completely ate the toes off a pair of boots. They like to eat flip flops, and they started chewing on scissors and a plastic frog. o_O
*No buttons on remotes (Daddy’s not happy with bunnies about that LOL)
*Lap-Top cable… man those are expencive
*Computer cords, mice and keybords mostly
*Bottoms on my jeans have little holes… apparently that’s when it’s treat time
*Zippers on my sweatshirts … now they don’t close (i have my ‘bunny sweater’ i put them on when i am playing with bunnies)
*Bed boxspring Foam mattress …. Ani decided this was a great place to burrow… hhmm Daddy didn’t think so and Mommy get’s in trouble
*Drywall…. digging holes into drywall is fun … Daddy finds a ‘white’ bunny running across the room “we don’t have a little white bunny?” … Thank you PitStop .. again why does Daddy have to be the one finding the bad stuff?
*Leather Couch chewing … oh yeah that’s Daddy’s couch BTW (But Mommy hates it… hehehe)
*Leather belts and Purses
I only buy cheap ones now
*Shoes laces & shoes
*Litterboxes … they should make aluminum ones really
I’ve been lucky with the carpet pulling, and only Chins and Degus have tried eating my baseboards. Baby & Bubba ate the ladies piano legs at their past home.
Pip HATES phone conversations…or just conversations in general…unless they’re about her of course, and in dulcet tones.
No doubt, if she got to my cell phone, there wouldn’t be much left of it in about 30 seconds. 0_o
She thumps if hubby tries to speak to me in her presence. Or my son. Doesn’t like male voices I guess.
