How often should I take her to get her nails clipped?

I’ve noticed her nails sticking out from the fur on her feet when she was having a nap lieing down one day and decided it’s porobaly time to get them done. I don’t know how often they should be done tho..

I get Moose and Monkey’s done about once a month. Normally that would be tomorrow at a thing the rabbit rescue here does, but I’ll be out of town tomorrow. Might have to either do it myself, or go to the vet for it this month

I’d do it myself, used to clip my cats and dog’s nails but my bun is so…feirce!
            she’d eat me alive!!! LOL
I got my bun at the end of Jan & she had them done just before we adopted her, havent had them done since…
I guess I’d better get them done a.s.a.p!

It varies how quickly they grow. I think the average is once a month… some folks do it more often and trim off a very small amount every couple weeks… Big problems can happen if the nails get too long. They can get snagged on carpet and torn off, or make the rabbit sit on their heels more, leading to sore hocks. Plus, just like with cats and dogs, the longer the nails get, the longer the “quick” inside and the harder it is to keep them short.

Do you have someone who can help with holding or clipping the nails?

Sara, I have the same problem.  I got my bunny Jan. 25th and I haven’t done them since.  Even though Bindi and I have come a long way toward being friends, she would NEVER allow me to give her a pedicure.  I am trying to figure out where to take her, but I think I will take her to a rescue close to me so they can do them and show me how I should do them.  If I could only not have overtime and get a minute to myself .  I feel your pain in the “tiny terrorist” problem

I’d say officially these past 2 weeks we’ve started to become pretty good friends, finally! lol
I was honestly thinking she was going to act like I was an enemy forever!
I’d hate to try to clip her nails myself and risk losing the friendship i finally have with her.
The groomer I’m taking her to is someone I already know and trust…I took my dog to a groomer once to do his nails b/c it was cheaper than going to the vet and OMG the woman that did them was HORRID! she was literally screaming at my dog to stand still on the table & all he wanted was to get back to me but she didn’t allow people to be in the room with her (no wonder) …& since then we’ve had to muzzle him for nail clippings because he gives a warning growl that scares most people.
I do not want my bun ever going through something as traumatizing as that!
