I told you guys before I moved Bun from a pet store cage into the 4×2 grid cage in the closet. It’s working great, she loves it, she’s much happier and actually doesn’t attack me like she used to in the other cage when I would let her out. Honostly after she bit me pretty bad I’ve been pretty scared of her but I can see a change in her since the larger cage (pre spay that is, she’s still a little outchie) but she’s doing great. So…. I put a liter box in front of her cage because I knew the poop wars were going to begin – that’s how Indy was to Bee. Now that they can see her, they both poop it up! They use the box well, and then there is like 100 poops on the floor after I wake up or go out. I think today I will set another litterbox down so they have 2 and that will cover the 2 grids that show for the front of the cage. Basically I keep getting weak and thinking about setting up her old cage on my dresser again so I don’t have to pick up 1000 poops everyday and wash my hands till my skin falls off. I need your words of strength to keep going and hopefully another box will help. Bee keeps trying to break into Bun’s cage. I don’t know what thats about but it’s probably bad considering it’s Bee. Bee tries to lift the grids and Bun is sitting there with her head down asking for grooming. Weirdos. She is constantly up to no good. In fact I am getting headbutted right now.  Like….I don’t mind picking up little poo’s, it’s part of being a bunny owner…but I mean they are dropping off dump truck loads in front of Bun’s cage. What else can I do to help?

          Oh noes! Poop wars!

I don’t know there’s anything you can do 🙁 Other than bond them eventually and keep picking up the poop.

Hopefully someone else will come along with a brilliant suggestion, but I feel your pain! Can you get a little dirt devil vacuum to just sweep it right up?

I do have a little shop vac ….I’ve just been picking them up with my hands because it’s faster. I think the 2nd liter box will work because then they don’t have anywhere else to go that is near her. It’s just getting old and I can’t let anyone in my room if I’ve been out because I need to pick it up first. I don’t want them to think I’m a sicko that sleeps with bun poop.

Bee just ran over to use it and went back to sleep on my bed. She just learned how to jump up there last week. My pillows are doomed now to be dug on. Indy….he lays down and sleeps in the litterbox next to bun. Full out flops …right after I clean it thank goodness! Bunnies can be so weird.

So…box#2 until anyone can direct me further. I think I’m just stuck with it till they bond like you said lol. I am not putting her back into the petstore cage, I think about it but I won’t…I’ll pick up 1000 poops everyday if it makes Bun happier. lol.

I truly believe that even if you set them in 2 litter pans, face to face, they would both still hop out and line up the territorial poos.

It feels forever and is Exhausting. I truly empathize. I would go to sleep at night with a clean room and wake up and it would look like a massive battle had been fought ALL over the room. Wall to Wall Rabbit poo. Even after they were officially “bonded”, the poo wars went on for a couple weeks past when I felt they were safe together.

I have a little dustpan and broom ( like handsize) that I keep next to the box. At least twice a day I sweep up any random stragglers and dump them back into their litterbox. I think it cost me a buck at the dollar store. It is easier ( for me) than the dustbuster.

I just stole a bag of stove pellets from the horse, the pellets are new and interesting…can’t track those around my room I don’t think. I just picked up poo’s a few hours ago, and now there are 3 more laying on the ground. *sigh*

Monkey has been doing the poop war thing. its totally one sided tho. Moose is too much of a good clean boy to leave poop around.

Are Indy & Bun out when you go out or is it their adjacent pens they’re poop warring in?? If free, maybe you need to pen them when you go out to try keep it contained. They are both young and you def don’t want them developing a habit that’ll be hard to break – Believe me!!! When they’re out when you are there, you can try prompt them to the boxes. I wonder if you can scent some small towels and lay them in front of Buns pen? Like rub a small towel all over Bee, & one all over Indy to pick up their scent. Then if they recognise their smell rather than Buns – they’d be less inclined to mark…hopefully….

Hmmmm, after Monkey’s comment it occurs to me that Coco was the prime culprit too. She is the only one who ever pees outside the box – Jackson NEVER does.

I wonder if females are, in essence, More territorial than males?

Well Jersey certainly proves that theory right! It may be they are territorial of space and males are territorial of their females or mates in general.

Bun is turning 3 this year! They are separate and Indy and Bee poop in front of the closet grid cage that Bun is in. The stove pellets are working well, there is a lot less poops on the floor today.
