As many of you know, next Friday Max the rabbit I’m adopting is coming home. Max is deaf. He has no hearing is his ears. I’m just wondering…. what if one day I decide to adopt another rabbit? Granted it wont be for a while. That’s for sure. Would Max being deaf make it harder to bond the two? If I did ever adopt another one, of course I would take Max bunny dating.

Has anoybody on here ever bonded a deaf/blind bun with another bun? I know K&K has Chuck & his deaf & blind right? And he is bonded with Noot? I know it’s a random question   but I was thinking about it earlier.

I think it would actually benefit Max. But it really does depend on Max’s demeanor and the potential mate’s demeanor as far as being any more easy or difficult to bond. I think that with Chuck and Noot, it was really Noot moreso that needed a friend (not that Chuck didn’t either), but Noot and Chuck did bond almost immediately if I remember from K&K.

Noot! That’s his name. That was driving me crazy. Okay, I’ll change it in my post Max….. well Max is a tad bit on the lazy side. It’s not like his shy (FAR from it) but he lays around a lot. He loves to be around people. Nothing fazes him. His very go with the flow, whatever happens is going to happen. Needless say Max is a PERFECT match for me

There should not be any greater issue between the two rabbits as far as bonding is concerned. The other bun might surprise the deaf one a couple of times if he doesn’t see him coming up behind him but having your eyes on the sides of your head helps with that. The main issue you’ll have is that you won’t be able to correct bad behavior verbally. My suggestion would be to stomp the ground as weall as shouting “NO!”. That way Max will feel your disapproval instead of hearing it. STill say “NO” though so the other bun gets the correction as well.
