Weird. Stormy was out in the living room and he sneezed 3 times and shot out a big white gob. Looks like it had some hairs in it (he’s shedding). He hasn’t been sneezing and doesn’t have a runny nose. Could it be possible he just had something stuck up there?

I know he doesn’t have any respiratory ailment or anything; last week I brought him to the vet for his eyes as they have been a bit red lately and she listened to him breathing with the stethoscope and said he has the clearest sounding bunny lungs she’s heard in a while. He got a 100% clean bill of health.

Did she treat him for his red eyes? Maybe it’s left over from some infection that still is healing. Could be somehow drainage.

How are his eyes now? If there wasn’t a treatment given, his eyes are red, then it there could be something brewing.

It could be that he also had some sort of irritant in his nose – hair and what have you and he just sneezed it all out. But this is something to keep a close eye on!

Usually bunny boogers are a sign of infection.  But since you say he hasn’t been sneezy lately then maybe it’s ok to watch and wait for a bit.  If he seems to sneeze more, or the eyes get redder or goopy then he should see the vet.

Hmmm I hesitate to say it’s nothing in case it’s not -but if he just got a clean bill of health I’d keep a close eye but maybe it’s just a stray booger?

No, he hasn’t been sneezing at all. His eyes weren’t infected, the vet said they just looked irritated and red at the corners. I’m assuming he’s fine.

If he still looks fine- my guess might be there was something in his nasal passage that was irritating- his body tried to respond by creating the booger- and he was then able to sneeze it out.  So if it is just the one time thing I think it was his body trying to “rid” himself of the irritation.

Not quite the same- but when I got braces I had to have rubber spacers put in first to have the metal bands fit around my back teeth- at first I produced so much saliva and drooled like crazy- my body detected these foreign “objects” in my mouth and tried to naturally “wash” them away.
