So when it comes to snacks do you like sweet or salty? What are some of your favorite snacks.
When it comes to food, do you like spicy or mild?
sweat. mild ![]()
I don’t eat many traditional snack foods like chips or pretzels, but I definitely prever savory flavors, so I’ll say salty. I don’t have much of a sweet tooth and am very choosy about what sweets I like (though if I like something I’ll eat all of it!). I also prefer baked goods that are less sweet and more bready (like muffins, or scones, or breads) – baked things are probably my favorite snack food. Give me banana bread for a snack any day. But mostly, I’d rather have a big meal and skip the dessert.
And I like spicy food too. Not terribly spicy, I have my limits, but I think a little bit of spice is good in just about anything.
Hmmm…Elrowhen seems like you are more picky about your food than your beer :~)
Hmm.. I like sweet, and salty. Its hard to choose sometimes. I like mildly spicy too lol.
Sarita, I’m so not picky about food, unless it’s sweets. Then I’m ridiculous 😛 I’ll eat anything that’s not sweets! I just don’t keep snack foods in the house because they are not good for my waistline 🙁 I can’t stop eating them once I start.
What do you prefer?
Elrohwen, You don’t like sweets!? I love chocolate and pretty much any candy.
and for the spicy or mild i’m a big baby. Even mild salsa is almost too hot for me!
I’m not terribly picky. I really do like both sweet and salty and spicy and mild.
I guess I have a pretty balanced palate and like a variety. I am picky about some things (like certain meats/organs…stuff like that) but as far as flavors I like many things. I don’t think I can handle super duper spicy/hot but spicy/hot I love. I also like rich creamy foods like alfredo sauce and things like that. I love salty nuts and pretzels and chips but I also love candy and pastries and desserts.
I love Indian food, Italian food, French food – I also love the Oriental foods but I’m not entirely sure if what we eat in the USA is what they eat in Asia. I really love the Thai food, but again, not entirely sure how authentic what I’ve eaten is.
I looove sweets I snack on them all day, I have a little bag of milky way midnights next to my bed haha. I’m not really a fan of spicy, I don’t even put pepper on my food.
I’m a sucker for cheese popcorn. I went to buy some smartpop white cheddar popcorn and found this instead. I figure I’d try it cause it was a larger bag for less money and it was delicious!!

this is the brand, that’s not the flavor i got but it was sooo good!!!
im kinda like elrohwen, picky about sweets but not much else… i deffinatly go for yogurt and fruits , (mostly banana’s, Hershey loves to be out when im eating banana’s cause i always share..) when i feel like snacking, and i love salads for meals
yes even breakfast…
Mir, yay for another non-sweet tooth! I’m not a huge fruit eater though – I do like bananas and apples, but in general fruit isn’t the first thing I reach for. I loooove my veggies though!
And Phil+Lydia, I do love chocolate!! I’m not one of those weirdos who doesn’t like chocolate 😛 And strangely enough, I prefer milk chocolate, which is the sweeter version. I like the milkiness!
Sarita, your entire post made me hungry! I’ve been wanting Thai food for weeks, but we don’t have a good place within 15 minutes of us. Boo! I’ll have to settle for the leftover Chinese in the fridge.
I like sweet and mild. I like most mushy food. Alfredo sauce – yum.
Right now, I would devour anything because I am on a Weight Watchers diet (yeah, I know. Lifestyle change.) and I have lost 12 lbs. but I would kill for a Doc’s burger with onions and melted cheese….sigh. Double sigh. Why does the bad food look better when you haven’t had it in a while?
Sarita, my sis-in-law is from Taiwan and cooks her own meals, sharing with us a lot. So yes, the food she makes which is authentic Chinese from the Asian market where she buys her ingredients is not the same. But she also loves Chinese buffets here, so there is considerable overlap. Some dishes were strictly invented in the US and new to anyone Chinese, like Chow Mein I think. Her home cooking was so spicy that it was bad for her ulcer! She cut way back. She makes a wonderful cold lentil type soup. (And in every Chinese restaurant, she talks to them in Mandarin, and they give us a price discount.)
Also, they don’t like things very sweet in China/Taiwan, so their cookies are really light and not too sweet. I love those.
i love all of the above
only thing i don’t like is shellfish and olives… tho i may be developing a taste for olives now. gees.
if i’m going to grab for something when i’m not really hungry it would be something of carbs or cheese… chips / toast / pasta. for those of you who have never tried poutine, please, i beg you, never ever try it. it is simply evil.
babybunsmum – I’m with you: All of the above!!!
What I want to eat all depends on my mood.
I like medium spice. I don’t get food that is so hot you can’t taste anything. What is the point?
I love spicy complex – like Indian.
I have not yet run into a food type that I don’t like.
I had a huge sweet habit while working at the cooking school. It took me 2 years to break the habit. Now I can have two or three bites of something & I’m good.
I have a little list on the fridge “What is for dinner this week?” to help me plan out the weeks meals. At the bottom it says “All meals are subject to change, due to whims!”
Spicy and me get along very well, my mother bought me a fancy pepper mill for my birthday which I cherish. I love chili peppers. I love fast fry meats with chilis and sauteed greens. I also love spicy soups. I am not a fan of sour, except I like lemon juice but again in combination with marinated chilis or pepper corns. I even drink chili tea sometimes. I suppose I like it because it makes me warm.
Elrohwen: OH GOOD! I don’t think i’ve met someone yet that doesnt like chocolate! Yummy. I love hersheys milk chocolate dipped in peanut butter. The best think ever.
lol its like reeses pieces
lol i love veggies but my mom doesnt buy alot so instead of a snack for me, buns get them for supper… lol and raisins, i LOVE raisins
No wonder you like rabbits, MirBear, you could sit down and share a meal with them: a salad and then raisins for desert.
lol, yupp except hershey eats most of my food… if i have a banna she’ll walk over and start eating it, if i dont share or if i take it away before she’s finished she thumps at me :p
No sweet tooth here
I’ve never understood the chocolate cravings but then-I’m kind of out in left field wondering about a lot of girly things-much of a tom boy here :p
I love spicy or salty
Favorite snack-…..hmmm….would have to be Swiss Cheese Crackers or Jalepeno chips? Really-I like olives for a snack. ![]()
i adore those swiss cheese crackers!! only crackers i will eat ;P
