So yesterday we were at our local petshop/exotic animal rescue. And they had a litter of cute little babies, three of them! They are jersey woolies.We had been planning on getting dj a friend for a few weeks now. And were kind of looking around for one. So we come into the pet store and i sit down by they’re inclosure and put my hand on the glass and one of these little babies comes over and puts her paw up against the glass where my hand is.*****melt*****
. So she is coming home next week tuesday. And dont worry i didnt just get sucked n by cuteness! We alreay have one bunny so we know what they need.she will live in the storebought cage for a few weeks until she is spayyed and littertrained and then once we bond the two she will live in the mongo condo with him. Yayy new bunny! That’s so exciting!
I just wanted to point out that a Jersy Wooly will require daily brushing to prevent mats from forming in her fur… I can’t remember what breed DJ is (sorry!) so you may find that it’s a lot more work to care for her becasue of the fur. Also, hold old is she? If she’s just a baby, she’ll have to wait a few months before being spayed – generally they’re spayed at around 6 months so if she’s very young, you might just want to set up a normal sized pen for her until it’s time for the big snip. I’m sure you knew all that though
Is there any way that you can do a “date” with her and DJ just to get an idea of how they’ll take to each other? (I’m assuming DJ is neutered otherwise I’d NEVER recommend this). I had an incredibly easy bond with my two becasue I took Leroy dating, so now that’s my “go to” advice for anyone who’s thinking about a friend for their bunny.

He cant go dating i really tried to but they said it wasn’t possible it wasn’t possible at the SPCA either which sucks.The lady at the place that i got her from asked me what DJ’s personality was like and said it would be best to bond him to a baby.But yeah i know that she will require more grooming.When i volunteered at the shelter i was responsible for grooming the long haired breeds angoras etc. Shes about 6 weeks now. But if its going to take long to spay her what i will do is put her in DJ’s condo and DJ in my bathroom.DJ is neutered hes a mixed breed and turning two in April.Thanks for the advice!
