we sell them at petsmart and i have the hardest time taming them. i’m sure life in the store is terrifying for them.
do you have any tips?
Younger geckos tend to freak out anyway lol. But this is the advice I was given to tame. Handle daily for at least 5 minutes put your hands in the enclosure as much as possible to show them you aren’t there to eat them. Attempt to hand feed instead of just dropping the feeders in (that could be an issue at a pet store lol). Someone also suggested this to me one of my friends swears by it part of it is a little gross and I will not be doing it but meh. Make a fist and wet your knuckle the slide the wet knuckle across the bedding until it touches the leos nose or he/she strikes (can’t really bit the knuckle since it is more or less smooth) this way the leo associates your hand with water. After he does this most leos will start crawling on his hands withing a week. If that doesn’t work take mealworm innards (I know ew) and do the same.
