Many on here have shown their rabbit habitats so here I go — I am a bit shy in this regard because I traded looks for size. . I couldn’t get the entire pen in one photo so these pictures show different portions.

        This is the wide side

This is the narrow side where they have the access to their litter cage underneath the shelves

Up close the litter box access (pardon the urine spray on the floor here, have to get mopping)

Their favorite hang-out is the long shelf section with tunnel underneath.

this is the long shelf section again just from outside the pen

I used a folded up wire crate to make the gate.

I liked using the grids to build it because they allowed me to make shelves which in turn make the walls very sturdy. Then pen is 12′ long not including the attached cage for their hay and litter.

I was asking about the mesh you used for Loki’s enclosure b/c I really need to get something nice looking to protect my walls. My rabbits want to dig out the insulation, LOL, so I shoved anything I had around in front and it looks bad.

I used to have 1 bunny. He was in my mudroom. It was great. All I had to do is open the door and he could go for binkies on the deck and come right back.

then I got my second rabbit and they moved into the bedroom, this was the set-up there. They were free in the room with just a cage for pottying.

Then bunny#3 came and I built her this. The rabbits had defintely taken over the bedroom by that point.

I housed them in a 5 by 2 grid condo in my basement at nights from then on, but I found it too small.

Once I added rabbit #4 to the trio, I had to upgrade.

With two large dogs and four rabbits I am kind of glad to have the pen in the basement just because we have forced-air heating running from October to May and it blows the fur fluffs everywhere. The rabbits still go in the bedroom or the patio but only for a few hours per day.

Thats awesome! I was going to do Loki’s enclosure in the basement, but it doesn’t get a whole lot of light (only 2 small windows), so we decided to put the dogs down there when we arent home (the one cant have free roam of house because she has separation anxiety, and so its just easier to keep both down there), so she got the furnished attic where the BF’s weights and such are lol.

I posted a comment earlier but it didn’t stick.

Those bunnies aren’t lonely and they aren’t just stuck down there by themselves. There’s nothing wrong with being in the basement when they’re taken care of as well as you take care of yours.

well, thanks, TARM. I love them, I do. Moving the rabbits into the basement was like getting a Stairmaster for myself…

LOL! Forced exercise… and then having to carry them all up to play! (Or do they venture up themselves?)

I absolutely agree with TARM… if the basement is safe and secure and water/weather-proofed… and they’re obviously not lonely or neglected… that is fine for them. I’m not going to lie and say your enclosure is beautiful… but it looks like it’s working, it’s clean (as clean as a bunny pen ever is… lol!) and it’s safe, and that’s what’s important. We all have to figure out what works for us and our furkids.

they are not allowed to venture in general. That’s where the pen comes in. No venturing around!

so you had to be brutally honest, telling me it is sort of ugly…

One day, I will have the beautiful house with the beautiful basement and the beautiful pen!

(pssst! don’t tell the quartet! they think right now what they have is totally en vogue! )

Not trying to be mean! I think it’s absolutely perfect for what it’s purpose is! I almost kind of wish I had a basement (and a couple of your bunnies in my possession) b/c I’d do something similar.

When your husband gets that dog, you will see why it is pointless to go for beautuful interiors. j/k
