Lulu isn’t spayed yet so i know her litter training won’t be as good. but right now it is horible she probably has like 20 – 30 poos a day out side of her litter box. she hasn’t ever been good at it but now that she is in side now i want to get her trained because i don’t want poos every were. so how can i train her?

She is just new inside, so its likely territorial marking that she is doing.

She’s new inside, unspayed, and there’s another bunny there – all of those factors make it extremely likely that she’s going to mark her territory. This may decrease with time, or it may not decrease until she’s spayed.

All you can do at this point is have her confined to a smaller area for exercise time, make sure she has a couple litterboxes filled with hay, and continue to pick up the poos as soon as you can and toss them in the box. Try and keep her area as clean as possible. Is she in the same space as Mocha?

well she is in the same room as mocha if that’s what you mean.

Yes, that’s what I meant. Sorry, should have been more clear. A lot of the pooping may be territorial since Mocha is in the room. Is it possible for you to keep her somewhere else in the house until after she’s been spayed, and then you can try reintroducing them?

You can also try an extra litter box if she’s leaving them in a pile more or less. That way she can mark, but might use a second box when she’s out. too.

Are you sure that she’s not just peeing over the edge of her litter box? Bunnies like to back up to pee and since they can pee straight out, sometimes they miss the box.

If she’s sitting outside the box and peeing, I would get another box and put it right next to the first. Or get one larger one. I would also put all of her hay in her litter box and don’t offer it anywhere else – sometimes bunnies like to poop while they eat so it can be helpful to limit her hay to where she should be pooping.

was Lulu using a litterbox when she was still outside?

elrohwen she might have peed over the edge once but the other spots were on the complete opposite side of the box. i only offer her hay in the box and her litter box is huge right now it is bigger then a big cat box. and she was pretty good about poo outside but i am not sure about pee.

Hmmm … usually it’s the other way around – good with peeing and bad with pooing. It could be that she’s marking her territory against your other bun. Is her pee around the edge of her pen? Or randomly in the middle? Is there something absorbant for her to pee on or is she going on a water proof surface?

Some buns like to pee on any soft surface… towel, blanket, bed, couch, rug, carpet, pet bed… if it’s soft, they will pee on it. Can you try taking all the soft material out and seeing how she does? Is she in a plastic-bottom cage right now?

Exactly my thought, Beka – if she only has a non-absorbant surface to pee on she might get the idea.

she didn’t have any sort of soft towels or anything she peed right on the plastic then today she peed on the floor so i had to cover that up because my mom would get really mad if she did that again.

With what you’ve told us, I’m going to guess she’s just marking her territory against Mocha. Very typical for an unspayed bun. Hopefully it stops when she gets spayed next month!
